Hey, whats up guys? I just ordered a junk load of parts today for about $53 (USD). I used Futurlec.com for this order. My favorite sites are:
futurlec.com (has great value sets, assorted pieces of your choice of component $2.39-24.99)
allelectronics.com (good in general)
digikey.com (confusing, but cheap)
jameco.com (great place for hook-up wire, $6.99 for 100 feet)
and smallbearelec.com (more exspensive)

any other that yall use?

mouser.com is my #1 go to. tough to navigate, but if you invest the time and effort to reading the item #s, reading datasheets, etc then it's the best for the cost and how quick they ship.

pedalpartsplus.com is good for enclosures, drilling and some other odds and ends

mouser is also my #1. it's a little archaic for first-timers, but they have nearly everything

I buy resistors and capacitors in multiples of hundreds. theyre cheaper that way.

I also use mouser. the thing that sucks about them is they double charge your card each time, by putting a hold on that amount of money as soon as you enter the payment, and than doing a separate transaction like right after, letting the hold disappear in a matter of days. I overdrew my bank the first time because i had no idea thats how they roll, and i didn't expect it.

Mouser took me a minute to figure out, but once you get the hang of it, it's got it all.

well, i use my debit card, since i don't have a credit card.

so i guess it means, use a credit card.

hmmm maybe your bank doesn't like mouser!

also, i forgot to add -- you can get good prices on certain items on ebay, although you need to do some price comparison first and know exactly what you need.

Alright, on my next order i guess I'm getting stuff from mouser. How do you order multiple values? like 1k, 10k, 25k, 50k, 100k, etc?

For ordering multiple values of resistors, you can navigate to
Passive Components -> Resistors -> Film Resistors -> Metal Film Resistors - Through Hole
Then pick a manufacturer to narrow it down.
Then filter on Power Rating = 0.25 Watt, Tolerance = 1%, Packaging = Bulk
(You could also choose Carbon Film Resistors and 5% Tolerance, if you prefer.)

Then multiple select the values you need in the Resistance filter and click Apply.

You should have a much smaller table now, and you can enter a quantity for each one in the Quantity column and click Buy.

If you want a bunch of different values to experiment with, you can instead search for "resistor assortments" and buy one or more resistor kits. More expensive, but they come in a little plastic box.

I have only ordered from Mouser, Small Bear, Tayda, and Pedal Parts Plus.

In the beginning Mouser was too confusing for me, but after I knew what I wanted and knew how to navigate it, I was able to order shitloads of random parts for pretty cheap and got the stuff fast. I like what Small Bear does but only ordered from them once because it seemed to take longer.

Tayda is REALLY cheap, but have only ordered certain things from them. Pots are really cheap there. Resistors are cheap there, as well.

I think my favorite is Pedal Parts Plus. I always get my shit fast and they have a good selection of enclosures and misc parts that are reasonably priced and the site is super easy to navigate. But usually, it's Mouser or PPPs.
