Pedal Stars of the 90s

90s was the last time I got great deals on things stores didn't want on hand anymore. Like a Boss PS2 and a Rat for $30 each. Ebay had a big impact on fixing used pricing. Goes both ways though. Anything sold to the store, you would be lucky to get about 25% of the retail price. So lots of oddball pedals from the 80s ended up on the clearance counter/box. Boss, DOD, EHX/Sovtek, and Dunlop wahs were all that were really available here brand new for a very long time.

Interesting how prices haven't really increased, and in some cases have gone down.

I had a FZ-2 in like '93. Still have it, it's glorious. What else, CS-2.. and of course a Cry-Baby.

Remwber when everyone had a wah pedal?
In Australia the only amps were Marshalls, Fenders or spatterings of Sovteks and Trace Elliots.
Just about every pedal was a Boss or a Sovtek /EHX, occasionally you saw a DOD.
We probably had like 2 or 3 distribution companies for gear tops, so choice was pretty limited.
I remember when Ibanez broke through and Mesa Boogie were huge in like 95/6.
We all wanted BC Rich, ESP and Ibbie shredders into rectos.
90s metal was rad, until nu metal sucked the life out of everything.
Lest we forget.

Never heard of nor saw them, and I was playing the entirety of the 90s and doing trips around the country for gigs and other work.

They were probably just sold in Germany and surrounding countries then.
Their take on the tube screamer now fetches prices in the 300 - 400 bucks range, because someone said it was more transparenter :-)
