1. Meris Merc7 (dreamy and sci-fi as hell)
2. BitQuest (Solid, solid all-rounder)
3. RM-1N (DESTROY SHIT!)

I'm a massive fan of the RM1N, but it is very dirty. If you want something like that but less insane, I'd suggest the DBA reverberation machine. Probably one of my favorite reverbs I've had on my board in a while. The meris mercury7 has some pretty unique characteristics but I've enjoyed it more on synth than guitar so far. Bitquest is always a solid choice, and you get lots of other utility as well. If you're looking to do the big box thing, can't go wrong w/ Empress.

I've only owned 4 reverbs: Dispatch Master, Hall of Fame, T2, Levitation.

I didn't hang on to any of them for long except the Dispatch Master, which was great, but I sold it because I thought it looked stupid.

I've been without verb for a while now, but I've got a Boss RV-3 incoming.
This is a very impressive collection of Roto Toms. That's 21 Roto Toms in all. That is only $33.00 a Roto Tom.

Ghost Echo and (1st gen) Nimbus are the ones I use and they work great for me. The Nimbus is pretty high-end focused (it is a bass verb after all) so if you want to avoid that I'd get the new version with separate bass and treble controls. I am thinking of eventually placing the Nimbus earlier in the chain and getting a delay/reverb combo pedal to put in its spot. Also I co-own a Spring Theory with a friend, and that one has a beautiful springy sound as well as a killer room that can get veeeeeeery big. There's a newer ver. of that too with more knobs.

The Sky Fi has been tempting me a lot recently. It sounds immense on the demos I've seen.

I love the TC electronic T2. Cheap, versatile, open ended with the tone print stuff. Way cooler than the HoF.

Boss RV-3: Solid all-rounder that sounds good before or after dirt, delay+reverb option is handy...

Aghartha wrote:I'm starting to think I'm just not very good at using reverb, or I'm expecting something else. I've got a Holy Grail, HOF2, Caverns V2, and Delay Workstation and they all sound metallic and thin when ever I get them to a level I can hear. I was assuming an "analog" would be warm and rich, but wasn't really aware that analog delays weren't really the norm anymore. A lot of the stuff posted here sounds good though, so this is something to go off of.

I guess chasing a specific guitar tone is better than chasing a white dragon though, and it sure beats thinking about work.
Pretty much all of those are really capable of warm and lush. What's the rest of your rig like and are they running in front of your amp or in the loop?
