What's your favorite reverb pedal?

Post by nogodsnobedtimes »

(Searching for "reverb" or any other pedal is impossible thanks to reverb.com )

I bought a Keeley Delay Workstation to hopefully combine reverb and delay into one pedal and it sounds like shit. Tinny synthetic garbage. It's possible I don't know how to use reverb properly, but I'm bummed.

What does the ILF hivemind prefer? What's a good analog reverb that sounds nice and rich?

Right now I'd say it's a toss up between the Ezhi and Aka T-verb, Boss RV500 and H9. There are a ton of good ones though. Reverb is probably my favorite effect after fuzz and delay.

DBA Reverberation Machine is my favorite pedal of all time

Really miss the RM1N I had

Really liked the Mr. Black Supermoon Chrome I had

Thinking about getting a EQD Ghost Echo for a more normal reverb to accompany the DBA

Are there analog reverbs that aren't more elaborate real deal spring units?

I think most are digital?

I second Terverb and Supermoon. Also dig Procession a bunch.

I think even "bad" reverbs have a place .. reverb is just such a cruise control effect it's hard not to find value in nearly every make. Just saying

Love the bloodmoon. My friend has mine and now I really want it back... have a ghost echo and it seems to always find a place on my board. Lately I like somewhat subtle reverbs that I can pair with delays to bring the extreme caverns instead of just a huge reverb.

Depending on how you define analog, there won't be much apart from a few real spring reverbs.
But reverb is something better done digitally anyway, and to be honest almost any recent reverb pedal is more than enough for 90% of the needs of almost everybody...

If you want something that has a very specific character (which can mean having some overdrive/fuzz or delay in the same box) then there are interesting options like the RM-1N, Dispatch Master, etc. though.

I'm starting to think I'm just not very good at using reverb, or I'm expecting something else. I've got a Holy Grail, HOF2, Caverns V2, and Delay Workstation and they all sound metallic and thin when ever I get them to a level I can hear. I was assuming an "analog" would be warm and rich, but wasn't really aware that analog delays weren't really the norm anymore. A lot of the stuff posted here sounds good though, so this is something to go off of.

I guess chasing a specific guitar tone is better than chasing a white dragon though, and it sure beats thinking about work.

Red Panda Context as far as "normal" reverb goes.

If you don't want metallic overtones, skip analog reverb.

Me too. Also the XP-400.

That said I thought the Meris was pretty cool although I wouldn't go for it over an Rm.
