Not really into modulation, but have found vibes to be quite cool. Maybe the Fulltone Deja Vibe, or the *some dudes name* Voodoo Vibe?

Don't you have the Fairfield ring mod? That does tremolo and stuff, I think?

Nice to hear that you dig it. It's an awesome pedal.

I like all kind of modulation effects. The weirder, the better! But I have some favourites that produce sounds that are simply lovely in my book:

BOSS CE-2B
BOSS DC-2
BOSS RT-20
Hotone TREM
KORG FK-2 Mr. Multi (phaser/wah/double wah)
KORG KFL-401 Flanger
KORG KPH-401 Phaser
Seppuku Mind Warp

I think Syl was considering a Vibe of some sort some time ago. :idk:

Maybe he'll consider one again. :snax:

:!!!: Tremulous Bear trem..
I also love my Clarinot clone with the LFO mod, that's nutty as hell.
I also built The Deprofundis with LFO from Grind Customs, more manageable and straight forward modulation delay than the Clarinot. Super Juicy IMO

In general, I hate chorus but loved the WVMkII. Small Clone though... can definitely get behind. Vastly prefer flange, currently living on my board as a Spectre :p

Other ones I love: tremolo (prob my favorite toan of all time), particularly enjoy the simplicity and good-ass sound of the Boss TR-2. The Fulltone Supa-Trem 2 is really pretty fantastic, probably the only pedal in Fuller's lineup that stands up to his ego. Also love the trem in the Flint.

Phaser: love the classic sound of the Phase 100. Probably a bit of a luddite in the phase dept. Also for that kind of tone though, I love the sort of gooey sound of a Uni Vibe—I've got an Effectrode Tube Vibe that's pretty much the best version of that sound I've been able to find. I don't like the Hendrixy thing too much, more into the slo goo.

Really want a Shallow Water!

The thread is not really about finding me something new... but more about what are you using and why.

Yeah I have Randy and it's awesome! I tried Shallow Water and it wasn't for me.

I have the sound in my head... you know that kind of rotating organ when you play some low note and it's floor shaking... I'd like a modulation like that, something that wont eat the lows (but not an organ octaver like the EQD).

Oh, in that case, Rainbow Machine! :!!!:

Because it's amazing.

Also, old chorus pedal set only to a rotary sound, ring modulator (natch), flanger (likewise), sometimes a phaser or trem.

All also amazing.

I have a Pitch Pirate Deluxe and a regular Pitch Pirate (and an EY, too, but it's relatively tame in comparison). The PPD can do a shitload of cool and crazy stuff (one of my favorites is probably this sorta broken flanger, overly resonant comb filter thing I haven't found in anything else), but I use the vanilla more for... normal... purposes, if only because it's a lot cleaner. If Doug ever has a big sale again, I might get one of the newer "clean" PPDs to work into non-noisy situations.

I also have a pretty good load of other mod (not counting env filters and trem and rack gear for the sake of, um, brevity).

Ibanez Swell Flanger - Doesn't really do jet flanging but gets some pretty colorful, extreme and metallic sounds.
Ibanez Session Man - '80s Chorus built into a RAT, basically.
Ibanez PH99 Classic Phase - I use this for old school phase tones, mostly, but the "Intense" mode and square wave can bleep nicely. This whole series was really cool, will eventually wind up with all four, I'm sure.
EHX Flanger Hoax - I still don't really know how the fuck this works, and I've had it forever. I got it dirt cheap brand new from a store that couldn't figure out how the fuck it worked. I find amazing sounds in it regularly, but can never really get back to them.
EHX Wiggler - Everything in this thing sounds beautiful.
Moog Cluster Flux - Expensive as tits, but man, is it lush. Lots of interactivity and seriously inspiring to play through.
Moog 12-stage Phaser - Same as above. It's a little too much for normal phaser duties in most of the bands I play with.
Moog Midi Murf - Similar to the Flanger Hoax, I'll find something amazing, then have a hard time exactly recreating it, BUT nothing else on the market really does what it does, afaIk.
CooperFX Generation Loss - Does its thing.
H&K Rotosphere - Live, I use this almost exclusively with a POG for organ tones or with other droney, synthy things, but it does sound great no matter what you run with it.
Jacques Prisoner - These are super underrated. It can do a lot of what the Pitch Pirate can do (minus the waveforms), but it's warmer and richer. Sort of like an analog halfway point between the vanilla PP and the PPD. Really pretty chorus/flange/vibrato all the way to bizarre, bendy detuning on top of the nice delay.
MJM '60s Vibe - Straight up Hendrix/Trower.
Maestro PS-1A - Relatively subtle and super limited, but does have a distinctive character. I use to add mildly colorful animation to certain stuff.

I still want a Shallow Water & Meet Maude.

I love modulation! If you want something interesting and weird but totally usable try the Pladask Elektrisk Romferd! It's so weird it's like a reverb but also a chorus but dirty and warbley!

I wish more companies made tap tempo Flanger. I play in a "prog" like band and everything is based on time, I rely almost too much on repeats, time, and LFO speed. It gets kind of annoying. I've tried the chase bliss but it was super noisy and just takes way too long to learn without a great sound produced. His pedals are also very chorusy, like everything he makes can do chorus as well... I have the Diamond Quantum right now for Flanger which works great but can't do through zero and it's a big pedal to have on my board to only use 1 of the 10 sounds.

I also really enjoy the JHS Unicorn Univibe, if you like Univibe it's awesome!

I like modulation but not enough to have a pricey pedal for that sole purpose. Maybe a bit quest since it does multiple stuff.

I use my M5 for phase and some synthy seeker stuff from the FM4

Demeter Tremulator clone I built.

Boss BF-2 MIJ. Love it but I'm trying to figure out a mod to lower the volume cause it boosts and annoys me.

I had a custom vibrato I built before that was part of the pitch pirate and part of the electric Druid tap LFO. I foolishly sold it and when I built others they didn't sound the same - I forgot what type photocell I used and it just didn't cut it.

Tool was a big band for me growing up and I loved Adam Jones' use of flanger and how it was super in your face but enhanced the guitar sound subtlety and I think cause of that I prefer modulation to be subtle and not too watery.
