Well, the Hotone Krush will arrive at my place in a few weeks. It has at least an added sample rate reduce mode, so I might like this one the most, I think. The pedal sounded awesome at the Musikmesse 2015.

Ottobit Jr is not working well with guitar but I am loving how it makes the Drumbrute sound like a Nintendo. Looking for a replacement that would be good for both. Scrutator gets high praise from 2 ILFers. Didn't hear the sounds in the BitQuest or Frantabit. HEXE Bitcrusher 3 sounds good, don't care for the LFO though, and Piotr told me he won't take orders for anything else in the next few months while building Revolvers. OTO Biscuit looks cool and sounds fun but is sort of unobtanium now. Anything else I should be looking at? Or maybe I keep the Ottobit Jr until I find something else.

I like it, but my Alesis Bitrman does a lot more - but it doesn't like unbuffered guitar signals too much.

Thanks for the videos. They could probably make it a bit smaller if they tried, I bet there is a spare millimeter on either side of the switch. Seriously though, I hate small pedals. Under consideration though.

The middle mode of the Ho-tone Krush I previously owned oscillated uncontrollably, much like the Mooer LoFi. The other, more gated Krush modes have radical EQ shifts and a digital chorus effect, respectively. It was pretty nifty for the price, but I still prefer the Malekko Scrutator.

I was able to briefly A/B the Malekko Scrutator and WMD Geiger Counter earlier this evening.

Their bitcrushing algorithm quality seemed comparable. There's no apparent mix control on the Geiger Counter (other than quasi blending via the bits/mask switch). Less effort is required to achieve unity gain bitcrushing with the Geiger Counter and, though it cascades decently into other gain sources it doesn't seem to consistently receive them as well as the Scrutator. Also, I noticed a very faint high pitched squeal when cascading the Geiger Counter into fuzzes with the sample rate control slightly lowered.

The Geiger Counter wavetables are magical and give it an edge over the Scrutator as a standalone noisemaker. Some caused slight, crackling oscillation that could be gated by toggling the mode button.
I still haven't read the WMD manual in detail and have no idea what the various modes accessible via the encoder knob are.

At this point, I will likely keep both bitcrushers, but could foresee the Scrutator being liquidated at some point.

I bought an OTO Biscuit. Arrived but the power supply doesn't work, terrible condition. New power supply allegedly on the way. Midst of bad transaction.

My guitar tech had an adapter for the Biscuit. IT DUCKING SLAYS. Lots of volume, knob range has function throughout travel, sounds excellent. Lots to tweak. Powerful filters. And this is only on the surface. Haven't even touched the effects (delay, pitch, waveshaping, step filter) or the Der Oto synth mode. Ottobit Jr is a toy compared to this. Sadlly, my unit has a wobbly knob and two others that may be acting up. If this goes back I will hunt for another. Don't tell anyone though, these are pricey enough and we don't need demand to skyrocket. Just our little secret, okay?

Wow, that is awesome. It seems like the bitcrushing buttons each have a different character. Some seem to let frequencies through, like higher sounds from a hi hat, and some just obliterate in the best way. This video is cool, wish I had a scope:

The Biscuit is fun as hell! I love OTO so much... can't wait to see/hear what the BOUM will do whenever they decide to release it (I hope they haven't canned the idea after Elektron came out with the Heat).

But yep, it's kinda deep—it sounds so different depending on the source, and has a pretty huge range of sounds. I've only messed with Der Oto a little bit and found it a little confusing, but the sounds are definitely cool. It's nice to have a little box that can whip out sequenced bass riffs if I ever want it, but I imagine I'll mostly stick to the Biscuit side.
