i have had bad luck with delays in general. they are the only pieces of gear I have ever had that crap out live. but man do I love them.

in general the only ones i've had problems with are my digitechs. but i got rid of my digitech distortion and replaced it with the VOX Satchurator...that was a very good decision :thumb:

Does anyone have any experience with mixing the Malekko 616 with dirt? My Memory Toy has the tendency to almost disappear when I play with fuzz :(

I know the EQD delays use a tone knob to combat this issue, but I'm curious about the 616 especially because it's advertised as being super quite. And I'm wondering if super quiet = lots of filtering = delayed signal disappears with dirt.

It's really more about the modulation, though. My songwriting buddy uses the Malekko with modulation + an Ab-synth all the time. It's like his go-to tone. It sounds really fucking awesome. I just don't fucking like the 616, especially after all the bullshit I went through with Josh. But he makes it sound good. I'm gonna try to get him to buy it off me.

Word. I do love me some modulated deeelay. I remember that stuff with Malekko, it was crazy. Such a bummer.

What about trying to get me to buy it off you  (but not really cause I don't have that much money [except I kinda do but I'm trying not to spend it so don't tempt me])

that's basically the main reason why i would never buy a Malekko pedal period. or Catalinbread. the pedals aren't that aren't that awesome to begin w/ & you wanna be a fucking douchebag on top of that? pliz. no thank you. i know some ppl masochistically get off on that asshole 'cult of personality' some of them wanna be used by you Zvex vibe & i guess it adds a little controversy/hype to the brand but no seriously fuck that my hard earned dollars can go somewhere ELSE...

i still want a Microverb actually. i was leaning towards the Lexicon MX 200 becuz it does both reverse reverb & reverse delay but i have the reverse delay covered w/ Hazarai so now i am less likely to really need reverse delay. i'm still gonna get a Cathedral too but i am pretty hell bent on getting a rack reverb.

:)

All are good choices, IMO. Just choose the one you think you'd be most happy with.
Do you like listening to homemade music? Me too. Why don't you try one of mine?

Bought one of the first 616s, had to get it fixed 'cuz of the first-batch-defect. I'd e-mailed Josh to see how long it'd take to get back, he replied quickly and said it was a two-week turnaround, I expected him to be prompt and polite, but after I sent the pedal, I couldn't get in touch with him for a long while, two weeks turned into two months and I doubt I would've gotten in touch with him unless I'd written "CHECK YOUR EMAIL" on his facebook wall. By the time it took him to fix my pedal, I'd recorded a single in the studio, without the 616 I'd bought mainly for studio use. And even though he was very obviously late and disorganized in returning the pedal to me, not a single apology or any little "hey, I fucked up" goodies were offered. I would have settled for a piece of gum.

Malekko makes nice pedals, I just don't think Josh is a fantastic dude, and unless something is fan-fucking-tastic and not busted, I won't be buying from him again. :idk:
well i guess, but i just don't know.
