Re: DBAFX LINE.......?

Post by comesect2.0 »

just got this email
This thing is a beast. It features two channels, the original Fuzz War and a boost circuit, both heavily customizable with internal dip switches. A world of gnarly new fuzz sounds, plus the beloved original. And yes, one of the sounds is very similar to our Oh Sees Fuzz War Overload from a few years ago, long out of production(!). Check out the vid on Youtube! Get it from the store! Limited edition of only 200, and on sale right NOW.

DBAFX will be a way for us to release ideas that we love that we won't mass-produce or ever do again. These might be highly specialized or super strange designs. Either way, we think they're cool.

Meanwhile, those t-shirts that sold out in days? We've got 'em back in stock!
Head to http://www.deathbyaudiostore.com to pick it all up before we're sold out forevvvvvvver!

Thanks,
DBA crew

I'm sure it sounds rad. But $320 for a boost and a muff is too much for me.

My thoughts on every single DBA product I've ever seen. Cool, wouldn't mind having one, but never for the price they want.

At this point, I just can't get excited for DBA, anymore.
Which sucks because I love all their stuff.
But, considering that they keep refusing to do any of their more "groundbreaking" stuff (like going forward with the Crash Mod/Space Ring or reinventing the Subsonic Bass Divider) and their prices are still in the ultra-speshul-bootweek levels, I can only respond with "meh," anymore. :mope:

I come real close to buying a micro dream pretty often, not Really sure why. Other DBA stuff doesn't strike me the same. Maybe it would be different in person?

The aesthetic of that Super Fuzz War reminds me a little of the Devi Ever/Fuzz Goddess Atomizer

Anyway, I LOVE my Soundwave Breakdown, and would like to try their other fuzzes. Anyone here have a Waveformer Destroyer? Been curious about that pedal for awhile. Can't remember if I've seen one in any of comesect2.0's pedal board pics... I think Uncle Grandfather has one (haven't seen him post in a long time)

your right about the aesthetic pete, & UG is now b.o.b. ...never tried out the waveformer destroyer, but the soundwave breakdown is by far my favorite from their line. pretty much sold off all my dba pedals...totally agree with jrfox, something has dimmed the light of fancy with dba for me as well......fascinating.

A few people had them. General concensus was they sounded great, but it was annoying having to open it to tweak the sound. UG basically left the bottom of the enclosure off.

I wonder why they didn't just do what Tech21 did with the Sansamp? :?:

I like the idea. A pedal with 4 settings you could always rely on to be the same. Show up at the gig and you have 4 dirt sounds ready.

The practical less so.

Also my definition of general consensus was limited to this forum. It may well have been received differently elsewhere

Rectal Hygienist has a Waveform destroyer if memory of his youtube channel serves.. I've cloned most of the DBA stuff that has a schematic.. My Soundwave Breakdown is definitely one of my favorite fuzzes, but so is the Harmonic Transformer.. so huge. Now that I have a job I'll probably order up a Belton Brick for that Reverberation Machine .. :P
