At this point, I'm done reading the Gear section of this site. A user who is not worth naming has poisoned the well and is turning this into his personal shithole. He has single-handedly rendered my favorite place on the internet toxic with his presence. Fuck him.
My force of habit, I am an insect
I have to confess I'm proud as hell of that fact

BossMann73 wrote:Geez, the pedal kicks ass and this is all you harp on? Somehow I think EH is going to do just fine just with the word of mouth about this pedal alone. People are going crazy for it because it is a boutique killer. Could they have done a video or two? Sure. But is it worth worrying about? No.
I've never seen so many user demos come out so fast on a pedal in decades, so I don't think EH flopped on anything. This l'il bastard is a TFR killer and although I respect Wren and Cuff, I am glad that finally a mass produced pedal is making the boutique guys nervous. Keep it up EH!!
Did you read the part where I said I've only heard bad quality cell phone videos of it?? I have no clue how it sounds, other than vaguely "Big Muff"-ish, which is a given. You'd think EHX could manage producing a demo video or clip prior to putting it up for sale. I didn't say anything about Wren & Cuff or anyone else. Must you climb up on your soap box regardless of the content of the post you're replying to? I LIKE EHX pedals, I expect more of them, because I know they're thoroughly professional and capable of it. Why are you picking up your fights with other posters with me, when I haven't expressed a single attitude you're railing against?
Picking a fight? Not picking a fight with anyone. Just commenting that EH is going to be just fine without these professional vids you wished existed. The pedal is killer and word of mouth is running wild with it. Not every product has to have a massive rollout and tons of vids. And this is a prime example. Go to TB and look at the posts there. That was my point.
We have a small pug/boston terrier mix dog that used run up to other dogs on the beach and bite their face, then pull back and yelp. So the owner of the other dog would always gasp and apologize to us, while scolding their dog, who seemed shocked and confused.
This story has nothing to do with anything in this thread, I just thought of it for no reason and felt like sharing.
FWIW, they didn't comment at all on the W&C pedal other than trade dress. All they need to do is issue it with new graphics and they're fine.
Granted, I've never been on the receiving end of a C&D letter, but I'd have to say that one seems pretty nicely worded.
As for me? I'm quite fond of my Big Muff Pi, but it's beat up and cuts out and needs a replacement. I'd been tossing around a fancy one, a GGG model, but now I may just buy a EHX model, especially because I love the dopesmoker PCB reference (which I saw the other day on TB and may have audibly squealed liked a girl).

It is.
It shows that they know who they're selling to, too.
They're selling it to people who are buying a pedal that should have been released ten years ago by quoting a record that should have been released twenty years ago?

How cunning.
It shows they know their audience will likely be made up of doombros that like to open up pedals and critique the wiring/decode the "hidden" messages on the circuit boards.

I did say that, and they did.
It's not the Bubble Font/Black Russian sound, or another tweaked version like the BBM, BBM nano, and Deluxe Bass Big Muff. I compared it to a bunch of Civil War/Tall Font Sovteks in my collection, and this is THAT sound and tone pot range.
