When was the last time you sold some gear on Craigslist?
I think it's been over 4 years since I sold anything on craigslist. I've listed a ton of stuff on it too.

Re: When was the last time you sold some gear on Craigslist?
Just had someone pull what I'm pretty sure was a scam. Listed some pedals on CL. Someone texts me asking if it's available, saying they'll PayPal me the money and arrange for pick-up because they're in Ohio and part of some merchant program where PayPal arranges for pickup or something? Seemed super sketchy.
But on the other hand, I just sold a guitar on CL last week and it went great!

I sold my JC-120 on there about a month ago.
I have an AC15C1 on there, now, that has been up for sale for a couple of months.

I've had decent luck this year. Just sold my tweed Victoria, and my JMP a couple months ago. I've got a Roland VK7 organ that's been on there forever though, and tons of people have shown interest only to flake out. Guess it just depends on the item

Sold a couple Teiscos to a dude last Monday. I've sold about 20 things on CL over the past year or so, ranging from $40 up to $800. Endless flakes, though. Endless.

Never. I tried to sell some iPads and bass amps there, but all I got was Nigerian princes.

I've had good luck buying stuff on Craigslist (Crate Power Block for $70, Earth Superbass head for $220, etc).
Tried to sell some cheap items, and when the buyer showed up, I just gave it away.

Craigslist is a scam artists paradise. I never list there and hardly ever buy. There's a ton of people cloning listings and taking folks money. I've had it happen to me with real estate. Fuck that site.

Re: When was the last time you sold some gear on Craigslist?
I made a solid Boss pedal swap yesterday, which was great. I've had great luck trading occasionally. I got my Earthquaker White Light in a swap (for a Rat, that I bought through CL) and then traded it for a Musket Fuzz. That was great.
I've bought basically every pedal through craigslist/kijiji too except for a few I've bought new.
I flip/trade pretty regularly, but it's an endless headache of bullshitters, flakes, lowballers, "hey I've got a DS-1 for trade for your Hall of Fame reverb pedal", people asking to meet in a dark alley behind the haunted amusement park, despite my ads being VERY clear. It goes with the territory. I am totally prepared for it.
Frankly I much prefer kijiji since they have that sick mobile app and a messenger system and I don't have to use email. I guess all my dealings are with kijiji these days despite any ad I post on both sites.

I've had no luck lately, either with musical equipment or store fixtures. It's probably been a few years. I occasionally get good buys, though.

I sold an amp last week but I typically only sell on Craigslist if it's something I'm not really comfortable shipping like amps, cabs and guitars. Where I live it usually take some patience because a lot of people try and low ball or make ridiculous trade offers but other than that I like it because it's free.

I cleared out a shit ton of used computers, music crap, and video games last year, but haven't had to with anything, yet. I'm thinking of putting a bass up, but there's just so much fucking idiots you've got to go through to find a decent buyer.
I've got piles of my kids' old toys I'm gonna try to sell in big bulk packages. That's next, I'm just dreading it.

Re: When was the last time you sold some gear on Craigslist?
I've done really well with craigslist, especially for amps/cabs. I'm also in Philadelphia, so there's a nice amount of people looking to buy. Never had a single problem with it or any kind of scammers. Only one time ever have I had someone check something out then not buy it.
