I have a question........

Not that I know much about websites, domains, and the like, but here goes. The Schumann Electronics site; although the guy seems to have disappeared, why is the web page still alive after all this time? Aren't there yearly hosting fees that need to be paid? Who's paying them? Why is that page still alive after all this time?

Doncha wonder?

This coming from a guy who proclaims that his "Schumann quest is over". But then again, I'm still searching for factory documentation on the Ludwig Phase II, so go figure.

John was/is exactly what you'd expect: totally weird, mad scientist type guy. I talked to him many many times when I lived in Brooklyn, and it was always sort of a mystery how he functioned and/or got stuff done. Super cool and interesting, but... really seemingly just on another plane.

So, my guess: I bet Main Drag keeps that url stuff going. They always were pretty much his sole retailer (iirc) and he worked out of there, so to me that's the most logical conclusion. Haven't lived there in 10 years though, so no idea what the story is with John or if he's still even around.

That makes no sense. First of all, anyone that's writing to that email on the website gets this...

Yup. Nothing. If Main Drag were supporting it, then at the very least, someone would answer the emails. Also, from a business perspective, there's no mention of Main Drag anywhere. I would hardly believe that the owner of Main Drag would be throwing cash at something that bring zero return.

I talked to a tech at main Drag a couple of years ago, and he told me that when Schumann left, he LEFT. Like disappeared. Packed his shit up, and left. There was no forwarding address, no phone contact number, nothing. He didn't go into details, but he inferred that there may have been some friction between him and Main Drag.

Anyway, you know what they say... rumours are like assholes. Everybody's got one.

As long as the card is valid, and it's set to recurring billing....boom. It'll stay up.

Long gone.

Will probably do another run soon though. I'll post in the stuff for sale section when we do pull the trigger on it.

Lion X boards will be up soon. Just waiting on a cable for the expression pedal (whaaaaaatttttt??? Lion X with expression pedal???) to finish testing before selling boards.

Finally... it's done. One damn fine OD. You want to set an amp on fire, plug this baby in.

And that concludes the quest. Many thanks to all that contributed. You know who you are.
