We have just released an octave/subharmonic generator as a module for the Line 6 ToneCore docks. A few clips here, with more coming:

This started with eti requesting an octave fuzz. I spent a couple of months researching and implementing a nice digital clipping algorithm in DSP56k assembly. But it seemed kind of silly to use a 100 MIPS DSP to emulate a couple of diodes or transistors, so I threw that code out and focused on sub octave generation - and 5ths. eti asked for other intervals (and I owed him for dropping the fuzz), so it also generates 3rds below the suboctave. The character is different from analog octave dividers or digital pitch shifters. It's synthetic, but maintains the dynamics and timbre of your guitar. A 3-position switch controls the harmonics of the sub octave signals, and an adjustable filter rounds out the tone. It tracks better than a blue box
Meant to get this out a few weeks ago, but the electricity in eti's building caused the prototype to flake out (fixed - now immune to such interference), and I spent all of last weekend at DEMF (Movement 2010). We appreciate the great feedback we have received from ILFers, so for the next week it's yours for $70 with free shipping (worldwide). Just PM me before 12:00am EDT June 14th to arrange.

Especially with the octave up.
