Long ago I built my own board and had a two tiered system primarily to hide 4 power strips for all the wall warts I needed. This was way before Pedal Powers or even 1Spots were available. On the other end of the spectrum, about 5 years ago I had a Pedaltrain with two PP2s underneath and all tidy cables. Turns out that super clean and sterilized feels just as gross as a complete rats nest. Somewhere in the middle is somehow comfortable, workable, and efficient.01010111 wrote:While I can spend money to make my setup look neat and tidy, I really don't mind having a pseudo cyber-punk tangle of wires connecting and running everything.

Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
Yeah somewhere in the middle is crucial for me. Too messy and I can't help tidying, but something about extremely organized feels like too much to me.
Anyone have a board of lots of pretty much the same thing? I've just sold off a bunch, left with just things I really love and it turns out I just like dirt and delay. So now my board is delay>a handful of dirt pedals>a couple more delays. I keep considering stripping down to two of each, then feeling silly having pedals I love off the board for no real reason.

Yes. Dirt > pitch > verb > looper. Over and over.
The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents.

I found a really good deal on an expensive guitar that I just bought, so I have like $1200 of surplus gear budget. Which feels like it should make me excited, but instead puts me into somewhat of an emotional tailspin.

I feel like keeping my shit clean and tidy means that if/when it breaks, it's not my fault. I get that it's not necessarily true, but it makes me feel better.

I hate that I'm constantly scheming for new gear.
I just want a setup that I'm happy with so I stop thinking about it. Chronic GAS is the worst.

Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
Why aren't there any simple loopers with tap-tempo or midi clock input? I get that it's possible to diy a solution to this, but I don't want a looper that works like a ditto with midi that's the size of a flanger hoax.
I've been dealing with this problem for years now, and I have no idea why there isn't a solution for this yet.

There is no end. There is no permanent happiness. You will always want something else. Gear will come and go, sometimes it stays longer, sometimes not.neonblack wrote:I hate that I'm constantly scheming for new gear.

I've thought a lot about this, and I'd be doing a TON of work to have something that's at least 4 times the size of a ditto, with almost identical functionality, and only uses about 1/10th of the axoloti's functionality.01010111 wrote:I get that it's possible to diy a solution to this, but I don't want a looper that works like a ditto with midi that's the size of a flanger hoax.
It has no tap tempo input of any kind. The foot controller input only scrolls through presets.tremolo3 wrote:22500 is not that big, nor that simple.
This seems like such an essential thing. If you play in a band and you use loops, if you use loops and you play with backing tracks from your computer (and don't use your computer for looping), you NEED to be able to sync them with the other band members. The only looper I can think of that's even close to this is the ditto x4, and its midi sync is the most unforgiving thing ever. It's almost as bad as a Texan judge. I actually sold mine because the midi sync made creating a proper loop nearly impossible (it always either cut off the first or last bar of my loop).
The looper functions on the Canyon or DD7 would be this if they didn't disable the external tap tempo in looping mode....
