Folktek PEDALS

Post by Ruiner »

Folktek is joining the pedal game with their newest Alter module turned pedal. Here's the first look!

Image

Obviously not the ideal setup for a foot pedal with the ins and outs on top and i'm interested to see how sturdy the tops are but i'm just glad they're going in this direction at all.

This.
Since I seem to remember their stuff being made from FR4, I'd be worried about shielding and a large faceplate that's likely to flex from the stress of a foot stomping on an industrial footswitch.

I imagine it will have to be put in a TB loop and not actually stomped on.
Could be damn cool, though.

^^^all of this.

Maybe with a soft switch and some structural support below it could hold up better (Sheraton/335 semi-hollow vs Casino/330 hollow). Or who knows maybe they've stepped on one 1000s of times already and it's all good :idk:

The one thing I DO know, like for sure, is DAMN that box is gorgeous. Between folktek and landscape I'm ready to loose my mind with this new approach/aesthetic to pedaling.

Bike backwards and you get a reverse delay.

That FR4 the top is made of is plenty thick to support the stress of switching. My guess is these will be so expensive that they wont endure much abuse from the people that buy them anyway.

Soft touch switch confirmed.
Should be fine, then.

Still curious about the potential for RF noise and whatnot, but I imagine they would've gone to the trouble of preparing for that, too.

If they use shielding paint inside the enclosures they'll be fine.

Lol yep. Studio item only at best, which will never be stomped but pressed gently with gloved fingers.

This is too sick. I wonder how much they'll cost?

Agreed, such a beautiful piece but I don't see this taking the abuse of being in a live rig.
