Ironically, when I got my AC15 it came with a 2X12 loaded with Governors. I preferred the combo by itself. I don't think the '15 had enough to work the Governors properly. I sold them. Put another Greenback I had in the 2X12, and there is a Blue on the way. :thumb:

I don't know the original price, but I always guessed the cost had to do with the quality of construction. If you look inside one of those things, it's a fucking site to behold. About as meticulous as it gets.
I still see working Bassmans from the 60s and 70s :idk: I know the clean and tight everything is inside a Hiwatt and that is cool, but besides being just a bit easier to mod/fix, I really don't see other practical advantage. Do people actually pay more to have something like that? :?:

Yes, regularly, Hiwatt are super fashionable among the amp worship crowd and there's a of builders doing DR103 clones all for $2000. They've always been expensive though, so it isn't as bad as all the Model T bullshit.

Yeah I feel the same, trem—it seems crazy that they're that much more expensive, but it's almost like the OG boutique brand. And yep, people dweeb out on them hard. I've never thought about buying one, but those turret boards do give me a boner.

On the AC15 thing, p sure I mentioned this in another thread a while back, but a bud of mine has one with 2 10"s that sounds AMAZING. I believe it's a 90s model, pretty hard to find. It's definitely not a high headroom amp, but the nice thing about it is that with the gain dimed it's still just a nice, beautiful, medium breakup. Not super saturated or farty, just in my opinion the perfect sweet spot for overdrive with nice definition. I don't think it'd hold up well against a loud drummer, but man those are worth a look if you ever see one...

Yea. After all this I think I'm jus gonna stick with tone orange for now. My main rig is a bass master with an orange 2x12 and while the cab/speaker configuration is different I still feel the bassman may be redundant and the only benefit would be to have a bass amp for home use.

so unless anyone has a reason I should get the bassman holla at me if not I'll keep the orange cause it really looks cool as duck
