Anyone know about these tape echoes?

Post by Nychthemeron »

Just saw these on eBay and was wondering if people knew about them. Also, seriously low prices for tape delays if you ask me.

Then again, I'm still waiting to see if someone in the UK can find a Watkins Copicat on the cheap.
Do you like listening to homemade music? Me too. Why don't you try one of mine?

Both are the Univox tape echo sold under different names.
Nice units when you can find the tapes.

If they run off 8-track tapes then the replacements should be easy to get, right?

The old Dictaphone tapes work with some modding, but you can't get those anymore either. I passed on one of these for $75 on my local CL because it just seemed like it would be such a headache to get tapes. Bad enough trying to get them for an echoplex (although that's changed now thanks to Mike Fuller), but these things are next to impossible to find now.
