My Matamp. The tone I've been trying to get for years. I've gotten close but that was with the use of pedals.

The closest i've hat to is was a superego with a vibrato in the loop. So close to that boards of canada tone just needed a bit more grime with it. Plugging in my Even Anguish for the first time was also a solid experience.

For me it was a rat into an RM-1N, which has since been pared down to (up to) a Fairfield Accountant into a Fuck into an RM-1N. I could probably reduce my board to just that and a delay and be content.

When we were in the studio I used my Moog Super Delay as a makeshift looper for a short bassline and we just let it run & degrade fully into hiss, clicks and pops. On the finished track you can actually hear the full decay process happening in the background while simultaneously the song develops and goes in a different direction, but nevertheless the pops & clicks turn into a sort of rhythmic embellishment that add to the minimalist drumbeat in that section. Turned out exactly the way I/we envisioned it.

I used the Moog delay for exactly this a lot. Damn what a pedlol.
The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents.
