Yeah inner ocean are awesome! You can buy Madvillainy on cassette too, sounds ace.
Thing with bandcamp and cassettes is that because most releases are so limited (generally 20-100) it's easy to miss out before you even knew it was released.
If you have the phone app you can set up 'favourite genres' which also filter by format. On the regular website it's not quite so friendly but you can still filter all new releases by format type and trawl through (which is what I do a few times a week).
Yeah I bought a ton of tapes and I don't even really have a cassette player. I have a TASCAM CD-A580 on pre-order which has a cassette and the ability to convert cassettes to mp3 if so inclined.

That Tascam looks nice.
I have 2 Sony walkmen, a stereo mic/input sony cassette dictaphone, an Olympus SR11 stereo microcassette recorder and a Fostex X28h 4 track. Been meaning to pickup a hi-fi/boombox cassette playback thing. over to eBay.

Thinking about getting a cassette.
I normally buy the cassette during my first or indeed a very brief skip through listen of a release, then wait for it to arrive so I can listen to the tape. A few times I've wanted to listen to a track but not had the cassette with me and gone to listen to the stream on bandcamp only to be massively disappointed that it is completely lacking vibe! Similarly I think some of the stuff I've bought is way better as digital.
Anyone bought anything new recently?
I bought a bunch of stuff from Opal tapes, more acid, and some weirdo Ciat Lonbarde / ASMR style shit from SCY1E/Horaflora. Needless to say they are all ace:
SCY1e / Horaflora - Body Lag/Craedles (split from Raub Roy's 2 projects, one is a long ASMR-esque thing, the other is all weirdo Ciat Lonbarde style with mumbly effected vocals and stuff - proper ace!) https://phinery.bandcamp.com/album/body ... edle-calls
Yeah makes sense, I bought Loveless on cassette which is a pretty low/separation sound, and the intricacy of Kevins mix means the cassette it like a different album entirely. I mean the original CD version sounds way different just on different headphones and speakers so a different medium takes that even further.
Ben Versluis - Categorize Your Dose - Super primitive techno/acid stuff out on Seagrave. Seagrave are an ace UK label that is currently kind of akin to how warp was in the early-mid 90s. If you like Opal Tapes you'll pretty much definitely like Seagrave. https://seagrave.bandcamp.com/album/cat ... -your-dose
Negative Kingdom Tapes Volume one - Found this on a random search for acid on tape. Sounds rough and ready and just the way I like my acid!Appears to be from Hungary and has some scary cool looking bearded leather trousered dude on the front cover. https://ujbala.bandcamp.com/album/negat ... volume-one
