BOSS CL-50 Compressor Limiter - HELP!
Does anyone of you have a BOSS CL-50? A while ago I bought a faulty exemplar at eBay and the Threshold knob of the noise gate was completely broken. I don't know the original value of this potentiometer, because the piece with the value written on it was broken and I believe the previous owner has opened the CL-50 to throw the loose parts away. I replaced it with a 10kOhm potentiometer, but that doesn't work properly.
Can anyone help me with gut shots or maybe with a service manual?

Hi, did you sort the problem out?
I just purchased a CL-50 and the input potentiometer does not work. You twist it and nothing happens.
Thankfully it seems to be stuck at 0, so I can use it.
I took it apart, re-soldered the contacts and cleaned around the dial with contact cleaner, but no change. I would like to be able to fix it though.
Cheers.

Re: BOSS CL-50 Compressor Limiter - HELP!
I swapped the broken potentiometer against a similar type and it works again. I didn't find a perfect substitute model and I had to solder a few wires to the replacement potentiometer. But in the end it turned out being okay. The problem in my case was that I initially had no service manual to check what the totally destroyed potentiometer's values were. Some guy at eBay opened his offered model and told me what was written on it.

Good, you fixed it.
I will de-solder mine and take a look.
Cheers.

I can not find the service manual online.Pepe wrote:I swapped the broken potentiometer against a similar type and it works again. I took mine out and went to a few electronic stores.
I could only see pots with 3 pins, 6 pins and 8 pins.
The people at the stores said they had nothing like mine.
I can see nothing written on my potentiometer.
Where should I look for the value? There is nothing on the top. But the other pots have numbers on them.
Here are some photos:

Cheers

I'd try contacting Roland support directly - they *might* have service docs or pots in the warehouse somewhere.
They have surprising numbers of obsolete oddities.
