Out of curiosity, since I love Dick James- how did Cpu controlled acoustic instruments shape your identity? Did it inspire you via process or product?

Jackson C. Frank - Blues Run The Game

I'd love to know more stuff in the vein of Jackson C Frank. I like Dave Van Ronk and I know Nick Drake did a lot of JCF stuff but my knowledge ends there (also I struggle with Drake because his voice isn't that good, whereas JCF and DVR are really strong singers).

Fuckin' Townes Van Zandt man. Vashti Bunyan has some similarities and definitely Bert Jansch. Bob Desper, Robbie Basho and Fred Neil are also well worth checking out.

These are the first albums that I remember jamming the shit out of as a child so whilst they did not directly lead me to playing an instrument they kind of put me on that path. Obviously the first two weren't mine but hearing them repeatedly has left a huge impression on my musical sensibilities and notably led me to having loud and drunken arguments as to just why Bernard Edwards is an infinitely better bass player than Cliff Burton.

It's hard to put into words so I'll try. In my fam the 2010s have been mostly a series of unfortunate events.
CCAIpt2 was the soundtrack for a lonely commute to a place I didn't want to be on one damp, dark day. I was feeling some kinda way and had a moodswing about such and such; this collection of acoustic noise arranged and performed electronically, seemingly aligned to articulate everything happening during that moment in time. Without saying a single word, it just made sense. Makes sense, as the feeling remains.

The J-Zone record also achieved something similar... like someone else is into the same type of funky flawed sound I gravitate toward with the relatable angst re: being an out of place adult.

Tomorrow's Harvest has grown to be my fav BoC record...got me through some tough times...without said ordeal ruining the music for me. I listened to it in the dentist's chair, another place nobody wants to be... throughout the traumatic experience of having teeth drilled for the first time. It is still an enjoyable listen and remains something I return to. It's stuck in my head like records from my formidable years, while still being so new [by comparison]

All 3 have been on my phone since release.
