Alex is already at 14 weeks, he must have been inundated with orders. I jumped on the wait list for a 50W Decolonizer w/loop and a 2x12 cab (unloaded). That gives me 10 weeks to sell gear and save money.

Anyone have recommendations for speakers to pair with the Decolonizer? I have some V30's laying around. Also thinking about Creambacks.

They're a new thing, so you probably can't find them new or on sale, but Alex sold me on the G12H-150's. Less harsh than a V30, great power rating.

The Creambacks are probably similar enough and worth looking into? Then there's the K-100. But I've heard that those are considered really dark -- that might not be a bad thing with a Decolonizer, depending on what you're going for?

Edit: also, depending on budget, I've heard that Warehouse speakers are a great deal. I just haven't tried any of them :idk:

Eminence Guvnors are great. I use the Lil Texas in my 4x12s which makes them super light but also very high power handling.

I use the Warehouse Speakers creamback clones. Ill have to drop a review when my HellHawk gets here but with my old Decolonizer holy shit. So full and just an awesome punch! They held up really well to the low end that thing threw out.

14 weeks? Damn I thought I had a long wait at 8. Kind of glad for the same waiting period to scrounge up extra cash to make the cost hit less. Anybody want a Halo Merus baritone? :hello:

I never realized that the ET-65's were creamback clones. I just heard good things and tried them out. That's what I have in my 2x12 that I use with my Science Sister.

I currently have cabs with V30s, ET-65s, Fane F70s, and K100's. I think I'll just play the Decolonizer thru them all and pick the speakers I like the best for the 2x12. Then, I needs to sell some cabs.... fuck, I have too much gear.

Yep!! And the ET90's are supposed to be the 65's insane beefier cousin!

When I was looking to take some of the treble harshness off my Reeves 12 watt amp, I was looking at vintage Fane type speakers. (Finding an original Hiwatt cab with Fanes locally here has been fruitless.)

Two good options seem to be the Weber Thames and the Tonker speakers. I haven't tried either, but those might also be worth doing some research on?

Look at the frequency response plots for speakers and find one with some treble rolloff and you should be good. There are a lot of speakers that have less efficient high end response that will darken up a bright amp. Hiwatts can be especially bad with celestions for example which are usually really strident.

So how are all of you getting the cash for your new Mark II? I sold off my old Mark I Decolonizer I bought from Shannon here to fund mine. 100 watts of KT88 power was so much overkill for me

I'm working a side job where I'm an artist model for old ladies drinking wine in a bougie area of town. Also I sold my sovtek mig50 and gonna post some pedals up to sell and trying to sell one of my cabs (if anyone wants a science I or emperor cab lemme know) so I can hopefully make up most of the loss. Mother 50watts seem perfect step up from my sovtek just don't wanna take too much from all the cash I've been saving

I sold an SG I haven't played consistently in 2+ years, and that paid for part of it. I've been cleaning up my old pedalboard and the cabinet of pedals. I really need to list a bunch of unused pedals, so I can hopefully get some cash before the CC bill is due this month.

A customer just shared this with me, and I thought it was a nice example of some heavy tones from the Mother amp. They used it on bass and one guitar.

I have a good job and I tend to be a responsible adult, so I manage to have a rainy day fund. But I'll probably try to sell my Orange Rockerverb 50 mk2 to help cover the cost. It's a cool amp, just not getting a lot of play right now.
