Honestly though, a used or demo Source Audio dirtbox will run you around that - pick one of the three, other than color, they're all the same and can be loaded with all of each other's sounds.

Surprisingly solid and ridiculously good for the $$$.

I am very happy with my DOD Gunslinger. Good simple distortion that nailed the mid-EQ shape I was looking for.
