Re: The Netflix Thread
I'm surprised no one has brought up the fact that Sense8 was renewed for a movie in 2018. I still haven't watched it, but I'm happy it's getting some closure so I can watch it eventually.

On one hand, a 2 hour special to finalize things is better than nothing.MrNovember wrote:I'm surprised no one has brought up the fact that Sense8 was renewed for a movie in 2018. I still haven't watched it, but I'm happy it's getting some closure so I can watch it eventually.
On the other hand, the show totally deserves, at least, another season for that.

Also, having to wait another year for it sucks, too.
Since I always forget:
SPOILER : show

We just watched Okja. Now, I'm off the meat again.

This is like the third time I've heard someone giving up meat because of Okja. I'm afraid to watch it. I like meat.blakestree wrote:We just watched Okja. Now, I'm off the meat again.

I'll eat your unwanted meat.
Going to watch it Wednesday night with some friends. I guess it's veggies for me after then too.

Watched Okja.
Went from a vegetarian to a meat eater.
That's how it's supposed to work, right?

Re: The Netflix Thread
I thought the first three seasons of House of Cards were dark, but four got really dark. Just started on five.

Re: The Netflix Thread
I haven't started on 5 yet because I've not been in the mood for something that intense since it came out...

Re: The Netflix Thread
For a very dumb evening you could do worse than the new ish Dirk Gently adaptation.
Elijah Wood has a pretty legit niche as "beleaguered straight man" going over the last 5 years or so.

The new Dirk Gently is one of the best things I've watched in a long time.

Also, season 5 of House of Cards is good, just like the previous ones...

Re: The Netflix Thread
I'd never seen MST3k before it hit Netflix coz I don't think it was ever on British TV (maybe it was on Sky or something but I've only had access to freeview since I was about 10). I'm 100% on board, what a great concept. I like the new ones with Jonah coz some of the references in the old Joel/Mike ones go over my head (I wasn't an American in the 80s), plus I'm a big fan of Felicia Day and Patton Oswalt. That said, there's still a lot to enjoy in the old ones. Manos, Pumaman and Space Mutiny would be worth watching without the MST3k treatment, they're baffling movies.

Re: The Netflix Thread
The great CW DC hero trash programming binge of 2017 continues. I recently finished all available episodes of Legends of Tomorrow and The Arrow before moving on to Supergirl. All of these shows utilize a formula remarkably similar to that of The Flash with subtle alterations here and there. Heatwave often stole the show on Legends, and I almost want to watch Prison Break now.
My wife and I also blazed through Glow and The Getdown, the latter of which had a strong start, fantastic buildup, and lackluster finish. Glow was better than anticipated, though I don't recall the original TV program from the 80's.
