tell me about my new cab

so, my friend/roommate is moving out of our house after 5 years of living with us. Today, as he was loading stuff in his truck he ended up giving me one of his 4x12's. a combination of not wanting to move it, not having the energy to sell it and knowing that one of my cabs is blown up. super sweet guy. i plan to slip him some dollars once i have a few extra. anyway, it's an old ampeg cab that he reloaded years ago with eminence texas heats. i have to do a little wiring to it. for a few years i've been playing a full stack with all vintage 30's. i like vintage 30's, but i also understand the criticism that they can be a bit harsh with the high end and upper mid blast. i don't know anything about texas heats except what i've read makes it seem like they could be a good compliment to my remaining cab with vintage 30's. maybe? maybe they're a little more on the heavy low end focus with a more tame high end. could be good? i don't know. are these cool? is this a good combo? i have a show friday so my plan is to wire it up before my one practice this week and use it at the show, so i hope so. or, if i'm headed for a disaster, please let me know.

i play metal. it's black metal with a heavy death/doom influence. for what it's worth.

Texas Heats are big, thick and clean. I have them in a 2x12". Will give you pretty substantial low end and zero speaker distortion. In theory, they could fill in under the V30s nicely, but when it comes to driver mixing, you won't *really* know if they'll get along til you try it. Also, a Texas Heat 4x12" on its own is 600 watts of power handling, so you're gonna need some serious juice if you like to feel the speakers moving. I run a 100-watt amp into the pair and they don't even flinch.
