:erm: You'll know because nobody's talking about it.

That's the beauty of life though, not everybody's interested in the same ol' shit. Or even the same new, hyped shit.

Also seems like nobody's playin' guitar and/or bass anymore. Which is OK. :idk: More pedals for me. :snax:

Not enough hype: DIRGE, McSpunkle, Sonic Crayon..

Seriously, though, I'd love to learn about more high-end guitar builders like Nelson, Bilt, Harvester Guitars, etc. Especially companies making things that aren't S, T, or Jag/JM-shaped.. 60's student guitars and Teisco weirdness, but with modern stable materials would be really interesting.

Similarly, pedal builders that are doing small batches and custom jobs that aren't all hype and modified Muffs/fuzz faces, and are doing unique things.

Related-but-this-really-isn't-the-right-thread: I have a 60's student guitar that is plywood, SG-shaped, but it had a Bigsby-type trem (now failed to a big block of iron tailpiece since the spring and trem arm are gone) and single coil pickups hiding under humbucker-sized covers.. but the neck on it is fantastic, with a zero fret, and other than a tendency to slip off the rounded edges, everything I enjoy about a guitar neck. When/if I ever get to the point of creating my own guitars from blocks of wood, I'm gonna take calipers to it and recreate the neck a couple times, and build some (solid wood body) guitars in that 60's-student-style with nice pickups and hardware.

weed. As in "works for electric effective design" I think, affiliated/made by Harry's Engineering, Japan. I have their Freezer chorus, which is a bass chorus with bottom and level controls that sounds unlike any other chorus I've heard. Bought it used but it still cost a pretty penny. I think that's part of the reason they're not so popular outside of maybe Japan, the price is way up there. Been wanting this one, a Dir En Grey/Kaoru sig distortion, but I doubt it's gonna happen.

That seems pretty interesting. I just went on Reverb to look for it and found this:

Which also looks pretty interesting. Sounds OK too (I guess)? (skip to like 6 minutes in):

Yeah, I looked at that one a while back, seems really cool although the demo isn't the greatest. Here is the one I have:

What about RMA pedals. Seems like Curtis doesn't get nearly enough love and he's right here right meow!

This popped up on my feed once & I was mostly confused on several levels (price, mod, weezer font, weed?), so thanks for the explanation! :joy:

I know some of the Rucci stuff gets talked about sometimes, but passive effects in general don't.

Rucci just uploaded this vid:

What's the deal with these guys? Nothing for sale on their site—just a custom order kind of thing? Guitars look cool tho. :idk:
They had some cool stuff to check out. I was reading a bit about then and it seems like the builder split off another company and likes building double basses (like using cad to replicate old fingerboards and stuff). I liked the style of the guitars.

They had a delay pedal in a pomade can and claimed it had a proprietary delay chip or something....which was weird.

One of the basses is up for near 9k ....

Alright Soy Boys I'm here! What are we not talking about today?

Sometimes not having hype is good thing for the builder too. I think Mr. DIRGE is happy going at the pace he is going. I know Patrick from Abominable Electronics wants to keep everything hand made by him so he literally had to stop taking orders because so many came in at once.

I love old multi effects pedals but even those are rising in price again.

Cheap RG Ibanez guitar play like a dream to me. They have the fattest frets for maximum Soy Shred!
