I feel like the drums are logic honestly? I can't tell if they used it for guitar tones at all, but they seem pretty intelligently laid out more so than the drum machines in most multi effects.

I still haven't listened to their newer LP on The Flenser. That first LP was put out at such a perfect time for me that I'm afraid anything else by then just wouldn't be able to touch the feeling I still get listening to Deathconciousness.

This is the eternal problem of your first release being a classic: everything after it will fail to live up. Their second album wasn't bad by any means but it was pretty forgettable and didn't have a single song half as good as The Big Gloom. Are any of you guys going to see them in their upcoming shows?

TBH I've found pretty much everything else they've put out to be really dull. They haven't recaptured the Deathconciousness magic.

I'm not sure if we have the same SR-16 but mine has reverb in almost every piece of drum/cymbal that I'm starting to find annoying.
But I'd totally get this drum machine into a shitty distortion pedal and then a plate reverb for that Deathconsciousness drum sound.

As for the bass and guitars, probably the same setup but a reverb sandwich.

Awful tones, great writing/lyrics/concept, the fan base however... :idk: </hipster>

Dry mightn't have been the right word, sterile would be more apt. There's no variety in the sound and the "dynamics" only result in a volume change, they start to get pretty horrible to listen to after a little while. Actually really liked some of the tones on it, at least in the sense that they suited the album well. Also dude, did I ever give you my email address or anything because I can't remember if I just forgot to respond or if one of us/both have just been busy.

I messaged Dan a while ago asking about some Deathconciousness sounds, and he said he couldn't remember specifics but almost everything was some kind of Logic preset.

I completely love this album and Giles Corey and i'm endlessly sad that the shows are happening 6+ hours away from me, a car-less fool
