If this was the mid 90s and not from one of the big players at the time (frantone, fulltone, way huge, prescription, etc...) then there will be pretty much zero documentation on the web and you're counting on someone having one and and also seeing this thread.Fuzth Faith wrote:Many thanks for your help! Alas....none of these are them. I really wish I had more info to mention. Only thing additionally I can think of is that I was looking at these around the mid-'90s. I fear that since I can't hunt a name/image of one online....probably just as hard to find one for sale!
I'll keep searching, though......

Re: Looking For A Specific Pedal Builder
All right, total longshot, but how long ago was Laura Bennett painting for Zvex? He was one of the first boutique builders I was aware of back in the early '00's, and it's conceivable he was doing modded/mod-able/customizable pedals back in the day... and I don't know if they were married, but back then I definitely thought of Laura as an absolute part of the Vex identity... and her stuff is abstract, but it is beautiful and kind of floral/tree-ish..

I kinda doubt dude would be on this arduous hunt if the answer was ZVex all along. Laura Bennet didn't show up until the mid 2000s.

Her work was absolutely beautiful and if I remember correctly, she painted trees and flowers on them. She simply made the pedals a work of art. I have searched Google for hours several times looking for something...anything! There are so many "bigger named" boutique line builders out now that it gets in the way of the search. If I saw one of his pedals I could probably identify it. And the sound clips on his web page were very impressive! If you have a clue........
Honestly, this entire description/quest reads like several histories smeared together (Dr. Sci, Fuzzhugger & Fuzzrocious all fit the bill, though the time/era is all out of whack, respectively)! If only you could remember what types of effects, maybe? Including mods also seems like a longshot in the pre-internet era (but I also associate that with distortions/ODs, specifically), but I'm also at a loss for that weird time period pre-DE/the dawn of boutique/total Boss domination. Also, do you remember how the clips were set up on the webpage? You might not think it would matter, but any other detail would be a great help! At the very least we're starting to know who it isn't, which is still something!Fuzth Faith wrote:Many thanks for your help! Alas....none of these are them. I really wish I had more info to mention.
