I've always been a little concerned about playing bass through my excelsior. Do you crank it up? Ever have any problems?finboy wrote:Finished my jbl install on my excelsior

Re: Setup of the day thread?
I got a super cheap FF clone off eBay (the purple guy) so I got a bunch of fuzz out and messed with the orders.
The Broadcast, despite being a germanium preamp/OD/fuzz, seems to be immune to buffers! Which is good coz it sounds v nice after the Boss/fender reverb.

This course, a perpetual alternation of determining what is true, and then setting aside this determining, constitutes, strictly speaking, the steady everyday life and activity of perpetual consciousness, a consciousness which fancies itself to be moving in the realm of truth.

Re: Setup of the day thread?
Is that an amp or a reverb unit?

Re: Setup of the day thread?
Tall bird reverb unit. It's taken over my setup, and is always on. Tall Bird with a Jaguar is a really interesting sound to me, and I'm also finding that it pairs very well with an out-of-phase Mustang. I'm playing through a Benson Monarch. The Frazz Dazzler runs after the Tall Bird for when I want additional post-gain.
The Tall Bird has kicked my beloved RM-1N off the board, and I'm at this point flipping every pedal that doesn't get along with it (like the TAFM, which I still have on my board for shits).
I need some new dirt...still haven't tried Elements or Brothers. Open to suggestions, bros

Re: Setup of the day thread?
got the fuzz going into the overdrives now, and there is no wrong..
,.. Mk whiteheat into dba soundwave/space ring into gristle overdrive and truckloud od sounds amazing...
was pickup up 2 or 3 radio stations and chopin it with the possessed....
you can use the 2 revolvers to capture a pitch from the space ring then have them phaze and bounce around....lots of experimentation on this concoction
