Highly off topic, but how did you manage to maintain the same IP address for that long? Did you pay for a static address?
I ran an ISP, it was bought out, I kept it, then the ISP that bought out that ISP kept me on as a consultant because, well, I built a lot of the underlying systems still in use.
I only left them this last year because there was never going to be a DSL upgrade out here (after years of promises) and they put in gigabit cable that actually delivers as promised.

Ah, very cool! Reason I asked is because I'm studying to get network certifications, and we had discussed how rare static addresses are. My professor actually explained a situation similar to yours as an example of how somebody might get one.

Yea, I ran an ISP from the switchover time from 28.8 to 56k and then to early DSL.
I transitioned fast into database stuff as I disliked end user problems hardcore, and well...there was no real profit to be had in non-business service.

They've got sample settings described in typical period awful, but the key is to know what was available at the time. There *wasn't* any other "metal" circuit in their lineup, so the "metal lead" will get you close, then adjust EQ to taste etc.
Keep in mind how ridiculously powerful the EQ section is.
