Pedal Train clean up committee (idiot proof your board)

Post by sostark »

I did a cursory search and didn't come up with any hits so apologies if this is a waste of digital board space.

I've been wanting to put a bottom on my Pedal Train board for a while now as I have enough TRS splitters, cables and power cords dangling to give me issues with placing the board down without giving it extra care and attention. I was thinking about unscrewing the rubber feet at the bottom and putting a thin piece of metal or plexi glass on the bottom (with possibly a door to access the underside) but it doesn't look like the feet unscrew. Has anyone else put something at the bottom of their Pedal Train/pedal board to alleviate this first world problem? Here's a pic of the latest configuration just so this post isn't the most painful thing you read today. :picard:

I'll likely drop Pedal Train a line later today and post any response I get here.

Go to a hardware store and buy some self-adhesive cable tie mounts and some cable ties. Then attach them to the bottom of the board to secure everything neatly.

I have nothing useful to say but I like where this thread might go.

I used cheaper, craft-store velcro. fuzzy side gets stuck to the underside of the pedalboard. The other side keeps its adhesive back covering, and I use it as re-configurable cable ties. Works especially great on my Pedaltrain nano with extra one-spot daisy chain stuff. I can grab a pic if that doesn't make sense.

Got a pic of one of these mounts by any chance? Sounds like something I could get into. Organization chub.

EDIT: nm, found it. That was actually way easier to Google than I was expecting, haha...

That's nothing but mine doesn't have to leave the house. :)

I actually built mine into a suitcase. Powersupply on the bottom with ply raised up... I run a smaller simple rig so this might not suit you. It works really well for me and I can close it up for travel and nothing moves... actually debating building a bigger one to add 1 new pedal but I haven't found a suitable replacement case. I posted a pic in the show your pedal board thread, should be the most recent board (trying to save space here). If your currious or want detailed pics I can take some for you. Goodluck homie

The feet unscrew somehow. I put rubber washers on the bottom of mine to add some height. I'll have to look at it later.

I like this idea though. :) Plexi glass would be cool as hell because you could stick some LED's under that sucker and make it even sexier.

I thought of that and agree :thumb: I just didn't want to buy a 3rd road case so DIY it is :thumb:
