multi-instrument stands
All my instruments are piled together against the corner of my room. Maybe I should get one to put my stuff on? Are they good or kind of stupid? What is a good one?

Re: multi-instrument stands
I've got a really cheap one that folds up, holds about 5 guitars. My chief complaint is that the bottom piece can't be put up against the wall, and it slides around my wood floor a bit from adding/removing guitars. When it does slide up against the wall, the headstocks hit the wall. Really annoying.

Re: multi-instrument stands
Utilitarian approach here. Cheap guitar stand (my <$30 one does the trick and holds all 7 of my guitars). My dresser holds clothes and pedals, is also a standing station for my work, also a pedal board and place to play synths. Amps are stacked on top of amps and a synth is on the top. The floor is your canvas! Yoga mats are great pedal boards!
I will be the first to admit my "set up" does not look good but it is space efficient.
I agree. In another life I would have drilled holes for the wall things that hold the guitar by the headstock. I worked around this by putting the KRAP ODYSSEY in its case behind the guitar stand.mathias wrote:My chief complaint is that the bottom piece can't be put up against the wall, and it slides around my wood floor a bit from adding/removing guitars. Re: multi-instrument stands
I have one of the cheap three-guitar stands because it fit where only one standard would have otherwise!

I have a 5-guitar Warwick Rockstand -- works great except the foam is way too thin and compresses over time from the weight of the guitars. I bought some pipe wrap at Lowes to put over it and all is well.

Re: multi-instrument stands
I got a 7-guitar stand from Amazon a while back for a surprisingly low amount (I wanna say no more than $50?). It's not the sturdiest, but it's withstood regular use for ~5 years with no problems. I just tighten it up whenever I relocate it and have never had an issue.

solo tunes:
completed works || loosey goosey releases
associated acts:
Raab Zamboni (fake jazz/real noise//sax, modular synth, editing, misc) || Field Guide (my best friends//sax on 2 tracks)
I make t-shirts, patches, koozies, buttons, CDs, sometimes tapes, and eventually i'll start working on pedals again. DM me for pricing!

Re: multi-instrument stands
If I had the woodshop, I'd build a replacement 5 instrument stand like this: http://www.instructables.com/id/Multipl ... computer-/ out of nice-ish wood.
Instead, I may settle for replacing my cheapie Amazon folding stand for a PVC rack like: http://www.instructables.com/id/DIY-pvc ... tar-stand/

Re: multi-instrument stands
I have a 7 guitar Rockstand and its great. The room is carpeted so it does not slide. If you have a bare floor, buy a $10 rubber bottomed carpet runner from Home Depot and put it under the stand. So that covers 7 guitars (duh) and then I have three on wall hooks. I like $harktooth's idea of a dresser. There's a goodwill on the corner, I can get a cheap chest of drawers to put everything else in.
