I hope so.

Also am I the only person who doesn't really want a fuzz from boss? Like they're good at everything else. For fuzz I wanna go to some small builder who makes a big muff clone with a name like 70S OCCULT BOOBS DOOM WITCH MACHINE or something.
Yeah dude, fuck old mate Warren from Bossco.

You have just named the perfect fuzz. Please patent this, as I would buy 1000 of them.
Especially if they came etched with some big tittied witch on them.

Doomer fuzz jokes aside, I really dig my fz2, and I'm glad backwards was awesome enough to let it go to me for the price he did as they really seem to be getting towards the untenable end in price now. I'm sure if boss reissued them it would put a stop to that overinflation, and if I didn't already have one I'd definitely be interested in a new one as opposed to paying new prices for an old one. However, you make a good case for builders who are nailing down that sound in utilitarian and cooler manner than boss would do.

oh I like FZ2s a lot I just figure that you know, market wants what it wants and market doesn't want a fuzz pedal from boss, maybe? I dunno.

PS 70S OCCULT BOOBS is the name of my new band. All our songs are just riffs from the last two electric wizard records played backwards and we post more shots of our gear on instagram than we practice. I predict a cherry bar residency within the month.

You are totally doing this hipster doom thing right. Just make sure you guys have an assortment of ironic mustaches and beards to Mach your very neatly patched up vests with bands from the 80s that suck a bunch of donkey dicks but make you seem more legit for wearing them.

Fuck I hate my town.

I've had a CE-2W for somewhere over six months, it's everything it claimed to be.

I got it for the CE-1 mode, and was able to dial in the exact sound I use in vibrato mode and chorus level on my vintage JC-50, just with a LOT less noise.

Running it and the Space Echo it was like having my old RE-301 back.

I use it in a very subdued way typically - I notice when it's *off* versus on.

While it ain't cheap...it is grand.

My pedalboard costs approximately 191 Metal Zones.

I played one for a while against a Julia and a couple other things. Julia ended up being my favorite. Both did some things well but Julia seemed to go slower and the lag knob made for cool variety. CE-2 was definitely really pretty and lush though. Real dope if it's what you're looking for.

Yeah, going back over old Soundgarden in light of recent events made me realise that chorus can actually be employed in some pretty cool ways (and Thayil is one of my heroes).
I busted my old DC-3 out and that actually has some nice and not-so-creepy sounds in it (I do love it for its creep factor, though).
Then I realised I still have a small clone reissue that's actually got a 3007 in it.
But it does need overhauling. I did something stupid when I tried to convert it to -9v, so hopefully its within reach of salvation.
Standby for a DIY help thread.

I know noone from Boss actually reads this or would give a shit of they did, but really: WHERE'S THE FZ-2W?? Oscillation, a sag/voltage control, octave, whatever, just anything that makes it even more awesome than the original one.

hey buddy, is there -any- boost or cut when using the Julia? I'm torn between the minifooger chorus, ce-2w and Julia. leaning towards the Julia cause of the lag knob, but I'm worried about a boost. I had a CE-3 that sounded so good, but it boosted the signal/made everything fatter which was super noticeable when you turned it off mid song.

if anyone could answer that about the CE-2w too that would be rad :)
i'm glad i can call you a friend. even if i'll never see you again

I have both models. I prefer the CE-2B over the CE-3. The CE-3 has a nice sound, but it's a bit sterile and as you mentioned it has the volume boost. The CE-2B sounds 99.5% like a CE-2 if you turn the effect volume to the max. I had a CE-2 and I couldn't tell them apart with my eyes closed. The effect volume knob is a great addition and I don't want a CE-2 anymore because of that. The CE-2(B) has no significant volume boost. It's well-balanced.

Overall I like the CE-3 for more "modern" '80s sounds, whereas the CE-2(B) has the lush mid-'70s sound.

I have a CE-2 vs. CE-2B comparison demo at YouTube. You might like to watch this one.

I haven't noticed any. I'll double check next time I have it out. I normally just leave it on for whole songs so I haven't looked at that too precisely. I have it before dirt which is pretty sensitive to dynamics, and I haven't noticed any big spikes with any combination of dirt and chorus, which in my mind means it doesn't boost because that would really change the dirt.
