Haha I mean, a group of people make a record for the first time in over twenty years and y'all seem pissed that the record isn't some perfect aural BJ.
EDIT and I'll add—I don't think it's amazing or anything, but I wouldn't say it flat out sucks. Certainly a fuckton better than Coldplay or P&W, as previously described.

I don't actually think it's an awful album, it's just not even nearly in the realm of a good one, and this fad of shoegaze/britpop bands reuiniting to attempt to write better versions of the songs they were doing 20 years ago is never going to translate well.
However, aural bj sounds pretty appealing and I would have rather had that instead.

Didn't love the new album at first, but I have to admit that it's growing on me. Just saw the show in Toronto. Slowdive is the kinda band I put on when I want to do something chill like drink tea and read, but that was one of the most intense live shows I've been to. I really can't jive with the hate here. They honestly blew me away.

I saw them last year and it was also pretty damn enjoyable.

Hoping the album grows on me with subsequent repeats. It's not bad, like you guys have said, but eh, not quite memorable either. I just popped it in for my third listen since getting it on Monday. Slomo is solid as hell though.
