I got an SMS from the postal service saying that they had a parcel for me today. I knew it was the Mercury7 and got super excited. I intentionally didn't listen to any music or anything for hours, just in case I'd miss the sound of the doorbell. Fast forward 7-8 hours and the tracking updates to "failed delivery: recipient not present". Suck my clammy limb, postal worker. I shall make you suffer. :zen:

Uh which clammy limb are we referring to?
The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents.

Wow. Just. Wow. This is the best sounding reverb I've played, which includes the Eventide Space. I could even get it to sound pretty much exactly like the Vigeland Mausoleum. If that doesn't sell you on the pedal, I don't know what will.

Awww yissssss! ILF teamwork at its finest.

It may not come across in youtube videos and it may not have 50 different types of modes or a cheesy "Beer" setting, but the depth and old character of the Mercury7 is why it's so special to me. There are 1,000s of modulated verb pedals out now, so I can see why some people are skeptical. However, this is definitely not another generic fv-1 ambientz verb that most modern pedal users are accustomed to. I hate beating a dead horse, but it's right up there with my favorite rack verbs.

It does look interesting... It has a very different feature set than the space, but then again it's smaller, but then again mangledverb is awesome, but then again I could use the meris with dirt, but then again blackhole is awesome, but then again... but then again...

I don't think the Space and Merc7 sound the same at all. I have an H9 and the Merc7 and use them at the same time for massive destruction. To me the algo's on the 7 sound so organic and amazing. You can however make it sound metallic and ugly if you want.

It's a wonderful reverb and my favorite probably that I've ever owned. I've owned a lot too guys...

Hey, you're welcome, Angelo, it certainly helped me understand the pedal better. You explained things well.

What are the factory 'alt functions' on the Mercury7 set to? Where are the dials set, I mean. I really want to start messing around with all that stuff, but I also love the way it sounds straight out of the box (minus the pitch mix, which I prefer to be a bit less prominent in the mix and tweaked accordingly).

Here you go:
Predelay: Knob at minimum
Mod Speed: Knob at 9 o'clock
Pitch Vector Mix: Knob at 1 o'clock
Density: Knob at maximum
Attack Time: Knob at 12 o'clock
Vibrato Depth: Knob at minimum

Also, thanks for the compliments and the comparisons to the hauntingly beautiful Vigeland Mausoleum clip. It truly means a lot to me!
