Going to Toronto to check out Russian Circles, Slowdive, and A Place to Bury Strangers in the first week of May. Not together, but nearly back to back. All of them are new for me live, and the Russian Circles hype in this thread is getting me antsy. There's going to be a liquid light show at APTBS, which almost has me more excited than the band.

Not sure how many people on here are into the Dead besides me, DoS and Dubkitty ( ), but I saw Bob Weir last night and he was painfully good. His band at the moment is phenomenal—three guys from the National (Aaron Dessner, Scott & Brian Devendorf), Steve Kimock, Jon Shaw, and Josh Kaufman. The latter is one of the very best guitarists I've ever seen. We're certainly not talking weird ILF guitar, but just awesomely melodic playing that sounds distinctly American but doesn't get wanky/bluesy. I'd say just Jerry-ish enough (Kimock went way there), but also a lot of David Lindley vibe.

So yep, I highly recommend it if you're even remotely into that sort of music! http://bobweir.net/tour/

Edited for a bunch of dumbass typos, btw. Need more coffee.

Russian Circles played a headliner show last night (Mastodon & EODM were doing a festival) and it was fantastic.

Did you listen to the Day of the Dead album curated by members of the National (Aaron & Bryce I think)?

I'm seeing Explosions in the Sky for the first time on Thursday night.

It's been a long time coming.

Seeing Muse next month and cannot wait! I wish I'd seen them a decade ago, but I'm still excited for now.

I saw them a couple times. They always put on a great show, but I've never been close enough to fully enjoy it. I'm really tired of stadium shows :grumpy:

Just wanted to say that Explosions in the Sky were fucking awesome. After it was over I just felt so happy to have finally seen them (I've been waiting 13-years). The next morning I just thought, damn, that was low-key one of the best shows I've been to in a long ass-time.

UGH...good for you! He's on my to see list. Especially because I think his latest material is his best. I've adored him for a while but I like his last two albums the best. He just gets better and better in my opinion.
