yeah, i love everything about the folktek aesthetic. pretty ambitious system if you read up on it.

Built another Random*Source Resonant Equalizer. Pretty nifty 10 band resonant filter. The left row of bands/knobs sum to Comb 1 output, right row of knobs sum to Comb 2 output. Even still adjusting any knobs effects what's coming out of the Comb outputs. Also has two Outputs that are a mix of all the bands, but its a mono module. No input(s) signal here, just cranking up the feedback knob and twiddling/checking outputs. With the knobs at noon you're flat, cw/ccw you boost/cut the band. Past 3 o'clock it gets to resonating and below 9 o'clock its deep cut.

Re: B.O.B's this does that. Ieaskul F Mobenthey Denum & Spro

Post by B.O.B »

hey, here's a listen and look at four Ieaskul F Mobenthey Denum vco into a Sprott filter. Real simple patch, Sprott has four inputs so I used a different Denum into each input. Patched the Denum vco triangle outputs into the filters High Pass, Band Pass, Low Pass, and Chaos Pass inputs. Then sent the vco square outputs into the filters four Diode inputs. Also patched either a triangle or square to the filters control inputs except for the Sprott's vca control input, which I self patched from its Chaos Pass output. Each Denum is fm the bounds of another Denum with its triangle, fm the bounce with its square. I patched the Lowpass and Bandpass outputs into an O'Tool oscilloscope, so you can see what those two outputs look like. Patched the Bandpass output straight into my interface so that's what you're listening to. Pretty alive for just four vco into a filter, you can see when I flick the toggle on one of the Denum in the beginning. The rest is all the patch evolving on its own.

hey there, here's a listen to the micro_research The Dark Interpreter Mater Tenebrarum,—Our Lady of Darkness' plague driven digital chaos processing a simple beat from a Lorre-Mill Double Knot drum machine.

Hey, here's a listen to running the audio from Lorre-Mill Double Knot through a vca using its own Envelopers as cv. Used the dual bipolar vca on an Ieaskul F. Mobenthey Denum for left/right channels of Double Knot. Swapped the audio/cv positions and also patched the Double Knot audio/cv to modulate the Denum. Denum Triangle are bussed to the left/right vca audio inputs.

Post by B.O.B »

ayo, here's a listen to the Ciat-Lonbarde Rollz-5 paper circuit drum machine. The output is kinda low on its own so I brought this inside to get a better listen after finishing the second AVDogs. Right now I just have wires sticking up from all the modules, touching them together or just touching them at all to play. Made a couple quick takes, first focusing on the Ultrasound with Rollz, then AVDogs with Rollz, then finally just holding one wire on a Rollz while touching a wire from another Rollz to kinda simulate "patching" nodes together to effect the beat. Extra wiring arrives today so hoping to finish the remaining Gongue module and go from there.

Re: B.O.B's this does that. Rollz-5 Pulse Rolls w/Ultrasound

Post by B.O.B »

ayyy, built up three sets of the 6,5,4,3,6 Pulse Roll modules. I mounted banana jacks to some cardboard so I could get a better idea of how things are progressing with the project....these modules are a real choose your own adventure with the hairy caps. On their own the even numbered rolls put out pulses, while the odd numbered rolls have the added chaotic behavior. The Ultrasound filter lets you hear all that good stuff. Here's a listen

heyo, here's a listen to all of the Ciat-Lonbarde paper circuit Rollz-5 modules. Have all modules patched with one 6 roll.

getting closer to somewhere else. finished up another Ultrasound and AVDog filter for the Ciat-Lonbarde paper circuit Rollz-5 drum/drama machine. another AVDog and Gongs to go. here's a listen to three AVDogs, two Ultrasound and a Gongs through some 6 and 5 pulse rolls.

Re: B.O.B's this does that. Ciat-Lonbarde Lil Sidrassi

Post by B.O.B »

ayo, here's a listen to the Ciat Lonbarde Lil Sidrassi paper circuit. I finished the initial build and testing it out here. Going to build a second with treble/ultrasound values and house them both in an enclosure with two speakers and some brass thumbtacks for playing the nodes. Built this one with mountain sub, subbubbass, subbass, treble, and ultrasound hairy cap values. Touch one of the nodes from the Ultrasound cap through a paper circuit Ultrasound filter in the beginning, then just touching nodes of the LIl Sidrassi together through the Speaker sensor.

Re: B.O.B's this does that. paper circuit Old Mr. Grassi

Post by B.O.B »

hey now, finished up a second Ciat-Lonbarde Lil Sidrassi paper circut...used treble up to radio ultrasound hairy caps in this one, here's a listen to the treble next to the bass Lil Sid

I used the same value for a couple caps in the bass sid as the treble so I swapped those for all sub range caps. mounted them in a shoebox so I could get a better idea of what playing them would be like using brass tacks soldered to the wires for each node...bass lil sid on the left and treble lil sid on the right, hooked up in stereo

next up was building the paper circuit Old Mr. Grassi, here's a listen bare wire method. found i was getting dramatic different response depending on how I hooded the two outputs to their 1/4" jacks, so made a couple takes showing how that went.

boxed that up and mounted banana jacks, using bare plugs here trying to see how i liked this layout of nodes

annnnnd here is a listen to combing the Pulse Rolls of the Rollz-5 paper circuit drum/drama machine with Old Mr. Grassi via banana jacks.

then gave a go at running Old Mr. Grassi through the paper circuit Ultrasound filters. first bit i'm using bare wire, then I patch them together with banana cables.

definitely gonna add an Ultrasound Filter to the Old Mr. Grassi enclosure

Re: B.O.B's this does that. Old Mr. Grassi w/Pulse Rolls

Post by B.O.B »

hayyy, built 3, 4, and 5 Pulse Roll boards last night with 10uf hairy caps, mounted those to the Old Mr. Grassi panel with Orange jacks. The action with Old Mr. Grassi is touching a star and cross node together, so here I'm using the Pulse Rolls to do the touching. Gonna swap those 10uf for some 47 and 100uf to slow down muh beats.
