Pretty sure I've listened to all the clips/watched all the demos a half dozen times.

Couldn't they have written a more extensive manual for us to read and re-read and re-read??
(Seriously though, for a pedal this nice/complex, I wish they would write an actual manual, rather than a quick start guide calling itself a manual)

There's not manual? That sucks.

There is a "manual" but it's more like a one page quick start guide if you ask me.
https://www.meris.us/wp-content/uploads ... -Jr-QS.pdf
Lots of info not covered about how the pedal works.
I'm just tired in general of having to watch youtube videos to find out essential information about how a product works (love your stuff CBA, but I'm definitely looking at you too!).
Give me detailed information about how it works, in written form. Let me obsessively read that while I wait for the product. Is that so much to ask???

That's understandable/acceptable, I guess. But stillmamsk wrote:They're still working on it, will be ready soon

I spoke with the people at Ottobit (Terry and Gina) on separate occasions...there's stuff this pedal can do that's featured in vids/demos that's definitely not mentioned in the published supporting docs. How to shift sequences from major to minor, for example, or how to program twelve step sequences...

I think the CBA manuals are great, give you all the information needed. Doesn't walk you through how to get sounds, but gives you all the controls to develop the sounds.
The Meris manual is very lacking though. Not even a midi CC list anywhere I can find for a midi heavy pedal. Not even any details about how the midi TRS is wired. One could figure it out through testing, but they shouldn't have to.
That was what stopped me from going in on the mercury7, Looks great, but really needed the full details.

Those aren't even the manuals.
Terry had this to say on TGP a few days ago:
"Printed quickstart guides ship with the pedals. More in depth user manuals will be available as PDFs on our site soon.
The quickstarts are definitely enough to get everyone started right away."

I think the CBA manuals are good in a lot of ways (even way above average) but also lacking? Like there is no narrative explanation of how really use some of ramping stuff in practice. I spent a solid hour one night just trying to figure out how the ramp dips and sweep dip interact. It's just confusing in the manual.
Here's a better example: if you have a blue knob spectre, how can you adjust the mix when you have ramping set?? You can't, right, because it controls the ramping... oh except actually you CAN if you hold down the tap button and adjust the mix knob, but the ONLY place that you will find this crucial information is in a youtube video.

I didn't know that! LOL!!
I find the CBA pedals incredibly hard to use. I don't know why. I just don't understand them. If someone else sets them up, they sound wonderful though.

My point exactly.jwar wrote:I didn't know that! LOL!!
I think they can definitely be non-intuitive at first. I think it's cool that Joel does videos to explain them, but I wish some of that info could be written out also. They need a narrative explanation of how some of the complex stuff works, and how to set it up, and how the pedal behaves when you do. I bet a lot of people don't gel with them because it's just too much work to figure out.jwar wrote:I find the CBA pedals incredibly hard to use. I don't know why. I just don't understand them. Haha, I didn't even know that. I stand corrected.ritz wrote:I think the CBA manuals are good in a lot of ways (even way above average) but also lacking? And i can see that for ramping, guess that was just more intuitive to my style of thinking than others. Brains are funny
