EvenMidi H9 Midi Controller

Post by peaches »

Thoughts on this? Seems to solve many folk's qualms with the H9, albeit at the cost of real estate (and well, money). Personally didn't mind using my phone but I thought the app was ass.

Seems like it defeats the purpose of the pedal to me in a way. I mean, I like that you can real time tweak easier, and maybe that would make it more usable...hmmm...I dunno. The price seems a tad high too, but that's because I'm a cheap ass when it comes to stuff like that.

I could see it being useful for sure, but again...that's the gimmick. Being able to tweak it from the phone and whatnot.

You know...then again...that does make it seem more useful. Fuck. I might get one.

It looks great, but not for me.

xyz buttons and big knob is all I need to make presets, and I already have a foot controller to change parameters on the fly, but I can see being useful for tweakers and table top setups.

Yeah, I mean I guess it depends on what you see the H9 as. Right from seeing the H9 I always thought I'd prefer it in the standard 'factor enclosure, just with all the algorithms (which I guess would make any model except the H9 Max redundant). Eh I think I just talked myself out of that.

I still think I'd enjoy using this more than the app. Or maybe a few knobs and deep dive via the app would be best. Source audio nailed it for me. I don't think I even know what I'm tryna say anymore, I'm gonna go and lie down.

Connecting a pedal to your phone via a TRS cable to control it is hilarious. But hey, Power Rangers are back.

Agree on having the H9 in a *factor enclousure (with Space display of course).

I can already predict the price:

It's 208 €, close enough.

Yea I totally agree on that one and I know Source Audio probably feels a similar way but they have said the Bluetooth wasn't an option because of pricing. I have no idea what it would actually cost, so I can't debate that.

I would have loved to have the H9 in a regular factor box! That would be killer. As it stand, it's ok though. I rarely use mine. I think having something like this would push me to use it more though. It's easier access. I don't like fucking with my phone when I playing. It's just stupid.

Why would you get this when Barn3 do that really cool auxiliary switch? When I use Eventide stuff live I just want bank up, bank down, on and off but then I use the Factors so I have all the knobbage I might require right in front of me.

I replaced by pitchfactor pedal for an H9 max, and honestly with the desktop add plus the blue tooth, I have not even found a mild need for more footwitches pass the barn3 setup. I kinda wish I could use both aux switches and an expression pedal but that doesn't seem possible I guess. The knobs rarely get tweaked in a live setting, and I find myself rarely touching the knobs when I'm home because I just create patches, save them, and then rarely ever touch them.

I definitely wouldn't pay that much for one I guess, its nice though for table top setups

It is possible. Check on Eventide's website, they have a youtube video explaining this I think.

I'll try to find it at the moment, I can't seem to get it to work I guess. I have a barn3 ox9. I know its easy to do on a factor pedal since it has both expression and aux outputs though

From what I remember you'll need to use a splitter, and the downside is that you could only use 2 of the 3 possible aux switches.
