Best/Cheapest Spacemen 3 sounds?
Hey friends
I wanna make psych drone shit.
What's the best (cheapest maybe) percussive trem/other weird drone modulation effects I should look for?
Literally my whole board is delays and dirt so I know basically nothing about mod pedals
Whoops!

You can do a lot with delays and dirt. Psychedelic is a mindset bro.

You can do a perfect Vox Repeat Percussion sound with a Source Audio Vertigo. The RP isn't hard to build though. I think I might even have some PCBs for them.
With a 20% code, you're looking at $119 new. Their modulation pedals are interchangeable with the Neuro app, so you could also use it as a chorus or flanger for multitrack work.

You can cover a lot of psychedelic work with a Stingray (phasing, filtering, wah-tremolo, drones, soundscapes).

Get thee a Reuss Repeater Fuzz. It's a pretty nifty pedal. http://www.reusseffects.com/products/rf02
The tremolo is dead on and the boost really helps. The fuzz may not be wild enough but you could always add more fuzz.
If you want THAT tremolo sound you've gotta go with a repeater clone of some sort. I've tried dialing it in with some really tweakable tremolos and some of them can get close but nothing nails it without the 2N2646's

My suggestions would be a G3 (or B3) and MS-70CDR combo.ramonovski wrote:Ebow and Zoom MS50.

I have one of these. The fuzz seems a lot stronger than what I remember from those built into Vox guitars.zeravla wrote:Get thee a Reuss Repeater Fuzz. It's a pretty nifty pedal. http://www.reusseffects.com/products/rf02

Re: Best/Cheapest Spacemen 3 sounds?
As a Space fan since '89, I'd say a phaser, a choppy trem and a crybaby 535q plus some germanium fuzz and delay and you're set... A boss flanger with trem and delay can get you into instant whock whock whock keeesh keeesh keeesh territory... I keep at least one Spaceman cd in the car at all times and you'd be amazed with how much you can get away with just using a lil dirt and delay and wah...

EQD Hummingbird is the most amazing device for making those Spacemen 3 choppy drones in my opinion
I play guitar and modular synthesizer in Juggable Offense.
