I bought one of these First Act guitar that have a shitty distortion built in with the intent of putting a delay in there. It's actually not a bad guitar higher quality than their walmart guitars.

Don't get it. Is it a "watch me do this weird trick" type of thing to showboat on gigs?
Aren't there plenty of really nice delay pedals out there that have an expression pedal output to control the delay time in a much easier way?

I guess if it's the only effect you use I can see the appeal of just walking in with your guitar, plugging in and going without worrying about a board and all.

Would you be able to avoid needing a 9v if you added an XLR output to your guitar and ran a pre-amp with phantom power? Or is that crazy talk

I've wondered the same thing, it seems like a rad idea. A friend of mine has a CE-2 or some other chorus instead of a rhythm circuit in their Jag and that seems like a rad idea.

That would be possible, but phantom power is 48v. And usually the max current is ~14 mA
