pedals for the sake of pedals.
so i'm converting my guest room into a jam room, and in that room is a giant 5x5 ikea shelf that's mostly empty and not going anywhere. i want to fill it with pedals and noise makers to just grab and play with during jams and when i'm bored. so suggest your favorite pedals and what not for making fun noise.

How about TE pocket operators? Not too expensive, easily at cable with each other and easy to use.

Love my pocket piano.
Oh wait, pedals? Anything w/ an arp, some gnarly filtered distortions, a bitquest, a CT5, a cool digital delay?

Istomps are great for some reverb action. Can usually be found for 40 bucks and the lexicon hall is worth every penny of that.

I have it on good authority that Boss is way better than boutique... So, clearly, a shell of Metal Zones is the answer.

This guy looks so annoying
But seriously though, if you're just gonna mess around, why not a few weirdo behringers? I like their PN-2 copy I have, and the vintage time machine delay can be cool to strip the paint off or something. 40$ boneshaker is also a good idea. Other cheap things that are intriguing that I have no use for is the digiverb, digidelay, metal zone, digitech bass synth thingy, line6 m5, zoom ms-50, zoom ultra series (the fuzz is great, but maybe not cheap anymore), boss ps-3 and the other cool boss things

Re: pedals for the sake of pedals.
all great suggestions so far. i already have a fuck, ct5, and your & you're. the fuck and ct5 live on my board (along with a the accountant and hof mini reverb), the y&y is kicking around for fun. i do want a mini again in weird colors, a regular looper for certain, and maybe more delays and reverbs. those boneshakers seem to already be sold out everywhere.

Casiotones, drum machines and racks from the 90s, maybe a huge collection of cheapo Behringers since you are not gigging them.
And definitely a looper, a multi-track one would be the shit.
And a mixer.

Yeah, those old DOD are fun.
Jokes aside, a $22 Boss that is kinda useful is the PSM-5, it's just a single bypass looper but shit will never broke. Aidan from Nadja has been using one since he was born I'm pretty sure.

Here's some picks for budget noodling. All of these can be had on Reverb/eBay for $150 or less in new or minty condition.waltdogg wrote:all great suggestions so far. i already have a fuck, ct5, and your & you're. the fuck and ct5 live on my board (along with a the accountant and hof mini reverb), the y&y is kicking around for fun. i do want a mini again in weird colors, a regular looper for certain, and maybe more delays and reverbs. those boneshakers seem to already be sold out everywhere.
MS-70: stack up to 6 effects simultaneously (reverbs, delays, some modulation)
Mooer: 5 modes of phasing for about $70
M5: it's like having several Line 6 pedals in one (many of the same sounds from the DL4/FM4 series + a poor man's Goatkeeper along with several reverb banks)
ME-8: now discontinued, has doubling/verb/delays, I've seen these blown out for as little as $129
Amnesia: Memory Man-inspired delay with 3 settings, around $120-140 used
X4: as low as $149 via PGS. I personally love this delay with synths and tabletop gear.
Mimiq: stack voicings for a larger, fuller sound. simple but useful at thickening up your instrument's signal. Some people might think of this as a recording or live pedal, but it definitely makes noodling more enjoyable, when stuff sounds bigger and more dynamic.
bonus picks: T2 reverb by TCE. about $99 for something much more versatile than other modulated reverbs in the $150-200 range.
DigiTech Hardwire RV-7: the non-modulated precursor to the Supernatural, which had flerb and modulated plate.
