Damn, is my Mini Wolf broken?

Post by phantasmagorovich »

OK, now this might sound a little stupid, but I don't know if my Mini Wolf CPU is broken or not.

I tried it with a Ohnoho Blowing Up Boost the other day. Now it whines on it's own even without input at certain settings on the texture knob. I sincerely don't know if it did that before.

I don't know about without anything plugged into the pedal. But with my guitar volume on zero and the Mini Wolf on in my chain, it does whine around 3-4 o' clock, which is where it would be in oscillation mode if I were playing something through it. Don't think yours is broken though. How loud is the whine?

I didn't do a thorough test. It was late at night and I just blew up everything I had available. I think I had my guitar plugged in when it whined though but there was a wider range of oscillation. I heard something in the range between 10.30 and 3 o'clock.
The whine is not too loud and the effect still sounds good when it gets input.

hmm... well, i suppose if one pedal were to harm another, it would be that Ohnoho boost. Blowing Up is a great effect idea, but it does come with a warning... :poke:

Yeah it does come with a warning, but on the other hand it's just no fun to have one and not try it with everything you can think of. So I did and because I had that warning in mind it freaked me out when the Wolf CPU gave those noises. I'm pretty sure that I didn't harm it though. It behaves like it did before, just that I had never before noticed that tiny oscillation. As far as I can tell this was false alarm.
