Re: Top Mounted Everything! And RRR v2 discussions!
No apology necessary, ER, sorry if I sounded cranky about it! I get asked a lot to add features that I just can't do. *looks down and kicks a rock*
Kev, I do consider the buffered bypass and the trails to be one in the same.. although I still haven't exactly sorted out how that's going to work yet! *laughs and cries* And I still do consider it to be an inside the box option with two toggle switches, one for left and one for right.. but I'll tell you what, on your bigberator the switches can be on the outside! *smile*
Nick, that's an interesting idea you've got there about the switching and definitely something to ponder... my initial reaction was 'no complicated or esoteric or user-specific switching options' but I'll kick that around a bit more. That's also something that maybe I could do on a special version for you. I guess I just worry about making the switching too complicated or confusing for the general user, and I feel that even though it's a stereo pedal the 'general user' will probably still use it in mono and not need special switching options. Interesting idea for sure though and thanks for the input!
Thanks dudes, I really appreciate the inputs and the comments and the supports!

yeah that makes sense. i guess i didn't realize that someone else makes the reverb chips.
i was just about to post a whole long diatribe about my thoughts on this reverb chip development (or lack thereof). but i will save it and create a new thread as to not muddle up this focused discussion on the new line. (can;t wait to try them)

Hey Ryan. Have you thought about adding a send/return on the new one so that users could add effects to the wet signal. I can just imagine a super huge plate Reverb running thru a cosmichorus......
Seriously, a send/return would rock hard.
You rock hard.

That would actually be at the top of my added feature list too, and for that very reason. I think my Cosmichorus puggy bank is about an 8th of the way there now, so maybe they'll align for a double purchase!

Re: Top Mounted Everything! And RRR v2 discussions!
OK dudes... I'm listening!
I've actually never owned or used a pedal with an effects loop so I'm a noob about them... like what's required of them, how they fit into the circuit, if they need controls, if they work in conjunction with the in and out jacks or if it's an either/or situation...
So you'd like to be able to insert a signal through the reverb circuit but not the same signal that you put through the in and out jacks... or you want to send the reverb signal through another effect and then mix it back with the signal going through the in and out jacks so you have effected reverb...
I think this is something we could look into... let's chat about how this loop gets used and all that!

send just the wet signal out into another pedal and then return the signal back in and mix it back with the dry

i wonder if putting a 'slow gear' reverse envelope effect into the loop would create reverse reverb sounds!

this. put a chosmichorus in the loop for modulated reverb... put a tremolessence in the loop for a tweakable rotary reverb... put a reverb in the loop for a reverbed reverb.

for now, I can get these sounds by putting the RRR(with mix at 100%) + extra pedal in a blender loop
but it'd be a pain on this pedal since we'd need to put a stereo pedal in the loop.
-two send and two returns would mean four extra jacks...
now posting as Forrrest.

This video for the Red Witch Titan Delay shows off some of the awesome ways you can use a loop. I would learn toward being able to blend the effected reverb in with a clean sound. Super fuzzed out reverb with your clean tone coming through as well= awesome. Everyone will have different opinions, but they will all be happy in the end.

It's true that it would be harder with a stereo pedal, but I don't play in stereo. Maybe one day when I grow up I will have two amps, but for now I am happy in mono and I think that the effects loop would be awesome.
Using an external blender pedal (parallel effects loop pedal) is awesome you can create all sorts of custom effects.
Wouldn't it be cool if you could have two separate effects loop for Right and left signals? That'd be way over the top, but it'd be cool. Either way - with two blender pedals, you could get the same effect with the stereo signals. Like, tremolo on the right side reverb and chorus on the left side. Ohhhhhh snap.
But that's it - an effects loop - that's my two cents. Hope it works out. I don't think there has EVER been a reverb with this option built in.

Mr. Dr. Scientist!
I may be a little late to the party, but I have a solution to the dual expression pedal control conundrum.
It is stable, small and in-expensive. Best of all, the solution permits the use of a wide variety of expression pedals.
PM or email me (jack@jackdeville.com).
PS: I am a huge admirer of your work.

Right on, guys, I think I get the use of the effect send/return jacks and I do think that sounds like a neat feature. It would have to be 4 jacks though, which is kind of a big change to the pcb I've nearly got ready.. but it's a reasonable addition and I'm going to experiment further with it. Thanks for the suggestion! I'm definitely interested in ideas like this that can add versatility to the RRR, so much appreciated.
Welcome to ILF, Jack, great to have you here!
I'd love to have a chat with you about circuit ideas, thanks very much and pm sent! *smile*

And if I'm not mistaken, having an effect loop would basically give you a stereo out because the loop out is a wet out. And in my mind it shouldn't be too hard to make a toggle to change the effect loop in to a stereo in because it would really just be changing between before and after the effect circuit.
I think you must investigate further...

Good thinking!!! Right on man. Great idea. That would prevent each pedal from having 8 jacks!
This would definitely be the way to go!

Re: Top Mounted Everything! And RRR v2 discussions!
Blake, I think you lost me again!
I don't see how the effect loop send/return jacks could double for the stereo in and out... or if that would be a good feature.. the stereo in and out is two fully separate audio paths through the circuit, so the effect loop send and return need to be their own separate connections too, right? Not an either or situation... I think generally people don't like that, they'd want stereo in and out and stereo effect loop at the same time, right?
I think I can handle it having 8 jacks if that's the most powerful and versatile way to go... flippin' lot of jacks though hey!
