I've had one for years, I totally love it. It's super versitile. It does that mellow shallow trem all the way to the on/off/on choppy stuff. Even some ring-modish sounds can be had, and because it's an EHX, you know it's down to get freaky. It literally hasn't left my board since the day I bought it.

Great in an effects loop, not as great in front of the amp. I find that it sucks some tone when it's in front of the amp. The square wave setting sounds just like the trem in my old '56 Gibson GA-40T amp. Fantastic!

Still rely on mine when I actually use trem. Never felt the need for anything more. Rarely use it in stereo, but it's fun when I do. I'd definitely recommend it before looking at anything more pricey.

I'mma gonna have to say that with the addition of tap tempo, this would be, more or less, the perfect trem...

it's pretty subtle, not as bad as the small stone, but i certainly noticed a volume drop when i would turn it on. so i got a tremolessence instead.

Hmm a Deluxe Stereo Pulsar perhaps? Something that could compete with some of the crazier trems out there. If it had something like the trem on the MM4 where the rate is attack-sensitive I'd be all over it. Expression control would do also. EHX get on it!

I used one once, and it seemed like there was volume drop, followed by volume increase, followed by drop at regular intervals.

it seems like every tremolo I try has this problem.

:p

I'm sure a lot of you know this already, but I'll say it anyways. Most people think they perceive a volume drop when using tremolo. This is because tremolos are at unity volume at the top of their cycle, and at less than unity for the rest of the cycle. That means that on average, the volume of the signal is lower than unity. But it does not mean that the pedal is causing a volume drop; its just a trick of the ear based on our perception. Many boutique tremolos overcome this perception by boosting the signal afterwards, to bring the average volume level back up to unity (which means the peaks are actually boosted higher than unity).
