Some loopers have a loop decay feature that will lower the volume of each old layer of loops only while overdubbing. DL4, Boomerang III, and the Infinity does it but they all call it something different. I did have problems with the Headrush after lots of loops with everything at the same level.
And to the DL4s credit, the audio is just a tad bit not as pristine on the loop playback so it sits apart from the live signal a bit nicer.

Hmm, I've seen them like $150 or so locally. I should get one then.karmablock wrote:Earlier Boomerangs are getting ridiculously expensive. You need an instrument with tone and volume controls.I did have problems with the Headrush after lots of loops with everything at the same level.
Not sure if OP already got one but I'll say Headrush is the easiest to use live if you don't need more than 23 seconds.. But get the E1 version, E2 has a terrible flaw that randomly kaputts your loop.

Does the E2 have longer loop time? If I'm not mistaken, the E1 is also good for stutter loops cause the E2 has the function where you can change delay modes by hitting both footswitches at once. If you try and do quick short stutter loops you can accidentally change out of looper mode.
I remember back in the old HCFX days musing about an E3. I really hoped Akai would do it.

E2 has 35 seconds with no overdubs, 17 with overdubs.Faldoe wrote:

I was excited when the E2 were selling for like $50 like a year ago, hoping for an E3...

Yeah, not bad. I shouldn't have sold the two I got when they were being blown out at like $60 shipped or whatever it was.D.o.S. wrote:Kbit is selling an E2 right now in the classifieds for a really good price. I almost snagged it from him but bills got in the way.

Re: Which looper live?
I doubt we'll ever see a Headrush E3. The most recent "Akai" pedals awful chinese rebrands they briefly sold a few years ago. I think it's best they don't mess with the old formula, given what a bad job they've done with their recent new products.
I have a pair of E2's, one which I got when they were blowing out. I might pick up another if I find a unit in good condition for a good price, or if I find a good condition E1. One of mine is flakey sometimes, and I don't know how much longer it'll last.
