Favorite volume pedal?
I'm going to need one for a group, there are some volume swell things I need to play that are a little too tricky to pull off with my guitar volume. I just need something durable, transparent, affordable, with a taper that doesn't jump to max volume too rapidly.

Ernie Ball VP Junior. The string system IMO gives the most accurate/controlled feel.
Good deals: OsbornKT, Phantasmagorovich, UglyCasanova, DarkAxel, Skip, D.o.S, ColdBrightSunlight, Eivind August, Goroth

I love those too, great feel. I've heard a lot of people bitch about them sucking tone but I've never noticed much with mine.

Yeah, these are passive, so they will if there's not enough buffering happening in your chain.

I've only had two. Mission Engineering and Boss FV-500H. Hated the sweep on the ME. Boss treats me well but it's a freaking behemoth of a pedal. It can also be used as an expression pedal, which is neat.

I sent mine to Skully and he put a switchable buffer inside.Disarm D'arcy wrote:Yeah, these are passive, so they will if there's not enough buffering happening in your chain.

Yeah. I have a big fat LA-2A type tube compressor at the start of my chain so... I don't worry about buffering

VP Junior sounds nice. What about the new Boss FV-30H?

I used to love the VP Jr. because you could stand on it, but I use a volume pedal so rarely that the space in more important to me. Ended up with the Hotone Soul Press. It works great and you can turn it off, so as to not hit it accidentally.

Hey! Let's talk about serious thing. We're gonna talk about guitar, dude.

VP Jr in terms of feel and bang for the buck. Perfect size as well. But break the string and you're entering a world of pain. Mine's been fucked ever since I replaced the string. Installed it again and again, with no luck

I prefer the og EBVP, with the dual side-mounted jacks, as opposed to the EBVP Jr.

If I'm running a volume pedal into four true bypass pedals do you think I'll lose some tone fairies?

Re: Favorite volume pedal?
Hmm I'll have to do something about then. It's a coincidence that I have an all TB board, I never really cared too much about it and usually had at least one buffer somewhere there. Maybe I'll replace my Polytune with a TU-3 since the poly isn't doing its poly very well and also the LED plate fell off the other day and I just kind of pressed it back into there.Disarm D'arcy wrote:Yupfriendship wrote:If I'm running a volume pedal into four true bypass pedals do you think I'll lose some tone fairies?
