OK! Just in case someone hasn't said it. I think we all determined awhile back that granular was actually the most annoying term in the boteeks world. So I submit for your response.

I thought granular was just the flavor of the month term?

I think it's just humans that are annoying.

I think "holy grail" is the most annoying term, as it conjures up people searching far and wide for that ONE FUCKIN PEDAL that costs $4000 and will make them sound like the ultimate bro. "Fat", "warm", and "touch-sensitive" can also take a hike. I got yer fat, warm and touch sensitive right here, buster.

I like "chewy" because I am frequently hungry while I am playing music and I would like it if more sounds were edible.

I'm starting to think that pedals in general are annoying, like, are you really a musician if you need 10 pedals?

Are these actually real? They must get paid per word I guess.

And that reminds me, while we're riding this weird troll thread, the one thing I genuinely hate is when people bring up the strength of the enclosure, like that's a fucking selling point. If it's not a Behringer you can throw it down the stairs and it'll still work fine. Shut the fuck up about how you can drive a tank over it. Does anyone own a tank? Please make a youtube video showing this isn't true. Also don't add that it's "True bypass!" like that's something special.

Simon the magpie on YouTube (and recent new member here) drove over a ds-1 in a tank

What about "white whale". That's another annoying term for the "holy grail". LOL

These terms go hand in hand with the ILF, TB or TGP views of blowing a certain builder. If it's popular with a few on ILF, then everyone is going to go ape shit and before you know it, their whole board is covered in shit that's probably super unusable to make music, but it's killer anyway somehow. Maybe...err...yea. TB is the same way. OMG blah, blah blah is coming out with a pedal. I must get on bend knee and received the money shot.

Fucking mason jars full of jizz. That's what this all equates to.

Arcing ropes of jism.

I dunno—I guess there aren't too many that bug me that bad. Other than "shimmer," just because it sounds like shit both figuratively and literally, AND reminds me of P&W. Oh and "tone stack." Fuck some tone stacks. Just call it plain old "tone," or EQ if you're feeling fancy. Something about "stack" just sounds excruciatingly bro-ridden.

Tone on a knob label bugs me. So I can get down with what you're saying.

I guess if there's just one knob to cover tone, that doesn't bug me so much. I think just adding "stack" in there is a completely unnecessary thing that people say to sound important. Case in point, "tone stack" is ALL over TGP.

And froze it. And it sounded better. And used it as canon ammunition. And so many things. He's a god to all of us.
