Anyone care to comment on the trem? I can't make up my mind about it aesthetically and have no idea functionally. Other than that I pine over this guitar so much.

The black one is indeed killllller. I think I might be a sucker for the sunburst/Firebird-y one

My thoughts exactly. Just when I was starting to think about what new bass to get...

I'm pretty eager to find out what the differences might be between the $600 Sterling version of the guitar and the more expensive one. Looks like the Sterlings are starting to ship out.

I had no idea they were doing a cheaper version of the guitar! Interesting...

Yeah no photos of the bass yet. :(

After looking at this thread earlier, I found out that one of the GCs in town had a St Vincent in stock, so I finally went and checked it out.

Gotta say... really fucking impressive guitar. The pickups sound great, and the switching configuration is really nice—no obnoxious 2+4 positions like on a strat (I VERY rarely like using those). The neck was surprisingly hefty. The one visual thing I didn't like was that the headstock is finished in a glossier coat while the neck surface itself is more matte, so there's this weird, visible line around the volute area. Totally minor. Only feature I didn't get to check out was the trem, as the bar wasn't on the guitar.

If I were in the market, I'd seriously consider getting one. Really fucking badass.

I'd noticed the dividing line between shiny and matte in the pictures. Too bad it's so noticeable. Maybe some sanding could even it out.
Was that the Sterling version?

Nope, it was the normal model. It's really not that big of a deal, just thought it was odd. It's not like anybody's going to be spending any time looking at the back of your headstock (other than you)—I don't think I'd bother sanding it, but I guess that's an option!

FWIW I usually don't like matte / oiled / unfinished necks so much, but this one felt pretty great.
