Post by Ruiner »

This seems like a common need for people using CV control with pedals and/or eurorack gear, no?? Doesn't seem like they're offered hardly anywhere except for 3 feet or longer. The majority seem to be TRS to TS which won't work for CV control right?

Where do you that use them get them from?? Links please!

Also, need one for the MicroGranny. That needs to be TS to TS too right?

Huh, Perfect circuit used to have all kinds of different lengths and colors, weird.

I have a couple pairs of the 12 ft. Hosas which I got from ebay, and these red 3 footers: http://www.analoguehaven.com/adinfinitu ... tercables/

Ah good to know. I literally JUST bought some Hosa's from Amazon but will use those next time since they're $2 cheaper. I'm just surprised you can't buy them in bulk like you can 1/8 to 1/8 patch cables and finding TS to TS is quite difficult in comparison to TRS to TS.

Yeah I think it's more limited to CV control of pedals than anything in the modular realm (SWEEEPING OVERSIMPLICATION)
good deals are here.

I use the 3 footers for modular audio out to my interface, and the 12 footers for CV & audio to & from pedals, or guitar straight into the modular.

Not to mention trying to find them with right angles to not loose board space... ugh.

There are definitely some gaps in the cable market here.

for real... a pack of ts to ts 1/4 to 1/8 in different sizes with different angle options would have to sell. After searching it seems a ton of people ask this question.

One of you go start a cable business and let me know when they're available. :poke:

Yes I'd really like to know the answer to this one, been wondering quite a bit recently because of my Drumbrute. I would usually run 1/4" cables straight into my interface or a mixer, but the Drumbrute has 1/8" outs just like the stuff you're dealing with. I figured a 1/4" cable with a heavy 1/8" adapter would put too much stress on the Drumbrute's jacks.

Best solution I've been able to think of would be running 1/8" cables and buying a handful of those 1/4" headphone adapters to put on the interface end, would certainly be less stressful on the jacks. Would be great just to have 1/8" to 1/4" cables though :idk:

also in theory methinks u might be able to get away w/ using TRS cables on TS jacks no? have u tried it?
the tip and sleeve would still connect to the right spots, and thats all u need..?

yeah ebay and amazon and a few other places do have them. They're just always singles only and 3ft is the shortest. I want short patch cable lengths and i want bulk. For now i settled with single 3 foot cables for $6 a piece until i find what i'm looking for.

I've read several posts when researching this of people saying they have issues trying to use TRS when it should be TS and they have to do janky things like leave the TRS pulled out slightly for it to work properly.... I don't know though.... haven't tried myself.

anytime!
hosa sells the modular TS 1/8" bulk too in 1.5 ft and 6 inches.
maybe w/ a bunch of 1/4" TS adapters?
u could likely find the adapters in bulk and maybe even right angled too.
