I waited on the Dream Sequence though and got it for way less than retail. I kind of want to do that for this but I als know I can use this immediately for that album I am not working on and not recording.

I think the lack of midi will lead to people selling it quickly. Same with no volume knob. These are not issues for me, namely midi (I don't use it on pedals, I get it, but I personally can't be bothered with it).

I think this coupled with the Geiger Counter Pro will be an unreal (and expensive) combo...for anything...guitar, bass, synth, contact mics, vocals, farts, queefs...you name it.

How do you know it doesn't have midi? I don't see the top of the pedal anywhere and all the info has been super vague. Also the Dream Sequence doesn't have a volume knob either really.

I don't think so buddy. It does seem odd though right? Usually once a manufacturer has their 'design', in this case the dream sequence, they kind of stick with it for succeeding products.

Maybe the codes for this one made it more complicated? I'm not a computer scientist but that would not make sense to me in the implementation of midi.

In other news, I think you (baremountain) and I would get along well were we to live in the same city.

I've made 3 trips to Nashville since Sept '15, so I'm definitely no stranger to those parts. My best friend moved out there to get his PhD at Vandy (since quit to do music; he hangs w folks in Linear Downfall, Butthole, and Skoolgirl if you're familiar with them) so I make it a point to go visit him fairly often. He, too, has quite the gear collection. I'll definitely let you know next time I'm in town

Also I own and love Infinite Jest but I lost my fucking bookmark a third of the way through it and i'll be damned if I'm starting from the beginning so I haven't finished it.

The Pale King was really, really good, though.

Lol I started reading 1 year before I seriously read it and only got 100 or so pages in. When I picked it back up I just started from somewhere around there I've only read selections from The Pale King (the 100 page one in the middle about how the guy joined the IRS was great). I've read a buncha his other works too; his nonfiction is stellar if you haven't looked into it.

Anyone read the second Harry Potter? Solid story.

Anyone ever read Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality?

The premise is that Harry's mom, Lily, made her sister Petunia really pretty so she married a BioChem Professor at Oxford instead of Durnsley. So Harry is raised as a rationalist who used the scientific method to examine everything.
